Guys
The Yeti is not a full-fledged 4WD. It uses a Haldex clutch, which is essentially a torque-sensing (hence also called TorSen) clutch to distribute power to the axle with better traction. It is a favourite with the Volkswagen Auto Group, who also use this system on their other road-going sedans under the brand "4Motion". It is, in very simple terms, an advanced version of electronic Traction Control.
Under normal conditions, the vehicle is a front-wheel drive. Do not expect any great off-roadability, though it will be capable of some amount of rough-terrain driving.
At the end of the day, it is a large, spacious front-wheel-drive hatch that is expected to be a hit with young ladies - the market expects it to be a reasonably successful chickmobile.
Keep those wheels turning!
