Hi

Congrats

Do the PDI before delivery

3m anti rust coating is good

Sun film go for 3m

Avoid garware

Take a cash discount instead or car cover and mud flaps

Avoid garware

For basic films garware is fine.

In 3M's range you have Llumar also.

Hi ami

What is meant by basic sunfilm, I want to have a sunfilm which should look good in the car.It should not look very black like a carbon. It should be looking good like a  thin black layer spreaded in glass. Will this be very costly. Will garware provide this looks for my wagon-r ?

If anyone from chennai, It would be helpfull for me to locate the store.

Simply go for 3M/Llumar.The govt recommendations are such that they wouldnot look that black.

I recently installed Llumar AIR 75 on my Esteem at Bangalore and there is a substantial reduction in heat. The A/C now seems to be much more efficient I feel.

The night time visibiity is enhanced by the fact that the glare from headlights of oncoming vehicles is greatly reduced.

Hi, I went through this excellent platform for car accessories. This is my 1st post. I drive an Esteem in Mumbai. I feel the heat during day drives - long drive as well as in city. I have come to fall upon the following combinations for sun films after some research:

  1. 3M - CR 70 front windscreen (50% rejection, VLT 70%); RE 50 for side (43% rejection, VLT 51%) and RE 70 (34% rejection, VLT 70%) for rear (got quote of Rs. 4.2K total)
  2. Garware - Icecool shield for front (40% rejection, VLT 70%); NF Grey 50 for side and back (29% rejection, VLT 54%) (Rs. 3.5K total)
  3. Llumar - Aqua cool AIR 80 (43% rejection, VLT 78%); Grey with (40% heat rejection; VLT 50%) Rs. 5K total

Will the above satisfy RTO compliance and which option is better. My budget is max 5K.

Is there any other better option ? It is important that the sun film should be of a light shade still be effective in heat resistance and glare from headlights at night

All of the above options are well within RTO norms of 70% VLT for front and Rear glass and 50% VLT for the side windows.

From the specs you have mentioned, 3M seems to be the best bet. It is very wel known brand and of very good quality...comparable to Llumar, though the Llumar front windshield film has lower heat rejection capabilities than 3M, but has higher VLT.

One option would be to go with Llumar AIR 80 for the front and rear and 3M RE 50 for the sides.

Both are great brands and you will not regret the buy. I have heard of Garware films, but cannot comment on how effective and durable it is.

Just make sure you get these installed from a reliable place and you get a reciept and manufacturers warranty card.

Garware is quite good.  It's a standard brand & VFM (value for money).

Experts, I have a question for you.

Have anyone of you heard of SUNTECH sunfilm?

A dealer told me that this is a new type of film being imported from hongkong.

He told me that it is scratch proof and he would put the film to all windows and rear wind shield for 1400 Rs.

What is your opinion on this?
