Hi Folks,

I wanted to change my stock headlamps from yellow to white ones. One option was to go for HID which I din't since they involve rewiring and may void my warranty.

Accent has 55/60 W bulbs as standard so wanted to replace it by the same wattage to aviod rewiring. So checked some brands like

-Osram (din't give a white light as such),
-Phiips crystal vision or extreme power (not sure which it was but wasn't white either)
- Delaer suggested a brand called Eagleye which I got(he just changed the stock bulbs to these new ones).

But as I am observing now is a strange thing. can you assist?

In the parking mode it is still yellow, in low and high, it is quite white but the bulb still has a yellow light emitting i.e. its like a yello sopt between a white light beam. is that normal?

Also I've observed the intensity isn't great and i have to resort to high beam most of the times since low beam on a long road hardly shows anything.

Can you guys help? which bulb should I go for? My basic requirement is that i want white light but do not want to compromise on intensity as well.

well All these WHite Lights that cost around 1 - 2 k rs are not Original HID's or Xenons!!

well no harm in having them though!

Philips is  a better  brand to go with!!

you could also have same halogen with 100/90 W or 130/100 W!! yeh you go to change the holder coz it may burn the stock one!! this will make you vision at night more clear!! and BRIGHT!!

Thanks Sri. So do you mean the 55/60 W bulbs would't be bright enough. Is that a problem with white light? I mean they are not as bright as even the stock bulbs that came with my accent..

Philips- can you be more specific with the model I can go for (white + bright)?

You can also consider Philips essential vision.

Thanks Sri and Ami but my doubt still remains i.e. whether I should go for more than the 55/60 W (this is the stock bulb wattage) since as you said this would include adding the relays (I personally do not wish to change that to aviod loss of warranty so wish to stick to 55/60 w only). So what are the options in 55/60 W for white+ bright?

And has anyone encountered the same problem? low intensity on white light?

I am using white light and found it to be better than the normal ones. However mine is done with extra relays.

I would say the issue of low intensity is usually there because of the inferior quality of the bulb(just a possibility).

I get the point Ami and too agree that the bulbs I am using are not so branded (eagleye a brand the dealer said is a korean brand). But the others I checked (i checked it in day though) i.e. osram and philips extra power were't white!!

Also is going for relay fine?

What options I can get in 55/60 W. Which ones do you have Ami?

I've heard crystal vision are white and bright. is that so? how about essential vision. are they white too?

I remember sometime back Binoy was writing some stuff on these. looks like he is not available as of now..

@ Binoy -> any suggestions?
