hi..

just bought an i10 era in silver . the dealer was offering me basic keyless entry system worth 3200 for free ... upgraded to hyundai MAX security system by paying 2400 more (bit high ... but when u go to to take delivery of ur first car u want to do everything quickly and bargaining takes the back seat ) !!

got gear lock for free ... initially i thought the basic keyless entry system should be enough with gear lock and immobilizer would not be needed but then decided to upgrade to it considering that if i decide to buy it sometime later would hv to spend around 3K more ...

The dealer did not know abt the password feature in MAX .. but as i had enquired abt it from other dealers before knew it was there and now confirmed it from manual ....

should i call an autocop guy to familiarize me with this password and anti hijacking features or try it out myself after reading from manual (bit ambiguous ... i mut confess)

Yes,do call them the Autocops guys. But first u will have to call the Hyundai Center from where i have taken the MAX.First she can advice you.Otherwise she will forward the request or complaint to Autocop.

I suppose there are default factory settings(like the password that u are referring). But still u can confirm this with Autocops.

Also, update the issue in this thread post for future reference

Does life time warranty includes the visit charges / labour charges of the service technician who vcomes to rectify the problem? Often these charges are multifold of the part charge..There must be more fineprint for the lifetime warranty.

i guess u r right cos not all parts are covered under life time warranty . Only some parts are warranted for lifetime and for other parts i think labour charges would be charged

Ababa, it seems unpractical , Hyundai sells 25,000 cars per month and at least 15,000 cars must be getting fitted with security system, you mean a security system company would send their employees to such a high number of customers? ...Looks impossible.

With the help of user's manual it should be possible to use each and every feature of product.
