Got it. Thanks for clarifying Ameen.

Hmm.....removing factory fitted locks doesn't sound a gud option. Looks like I am out of options here

Fiesta ZXI TDCi does have central locking am not sure of remote locking. Kindly recheck if the remote facility is present that it self would act as an audible alarm as in most other remote lock systems.

-addition of a gear lock is a non issue and will cost about 1-1.5K for a good one.

This was the reply from Metro Ford (Bangalore) team when I checked about gear lock.

Dear Mr Sinu, thank you for writing to us, as per your enquiry we don’t supply gear locking system & neither we recommend the same

I wonder why those guys are against it....simply coz they don't sell it ? Wink

You've got the point. You can have an aftermarket one installed.

Fiesta S (petrol) comes with Immobilizer - have a look at this.

None of the Diesel versions come with it - have a look.

Can't say if the versions/features have since been upgraded a little.

hi,

Now Engine immobilizer is standard for all model/variants.

If you found red light blinking on your meter pannel when ignition is switchedoff,it means your car is equiped with engine immobilizer.

-the 'red blinking light' shows the status of the security system(armed/unarmed) and not necessarily show the presence of the immobilizer.
