Hi Guys,

I saw the Linea and found that dashboard of Linea is bit awkward.

Could anyone one spot a location where a 7" screen be mounted. Prefferably at 2Din Slot which would come in active version of linea.

Indian Version

Given that base verison wont come with Audio system, the end user will have to use 1 din systems only it seems. And there is no space to install a 7" screen based systems on dashboard.

Pour in your views.

Lin,

This is the version launched outside.

Look at this link. There is a TD report uploaded over there. You will get the look of the indian version.

The space just above the AC grill can be used to keep the 7'' screen. It should fit properly.

Also Linea comes with a Bluetooth HU. You can save on the bluetooth adapter.

@Ameen: See the Indian Version Image (Autocar) one.

I dont think that 7" could be mounted there as the curve of console panel start from there.

Also without any backside support it would be hard for Touch screen LCD panel to stay mounted and repose to touch made to it.

What i feel the best way would be move the AC contol pannel to the space about AC grill and use the entire space left back for 10 or 12" lcd in vertical postion

But this means a serious refab work of dash, and not sure if we have such good quality refab guys available and also how would this impact the warranty.

You are correct. Even I missed the starting of the curve.

I still feel that we have a small chance. Have a look at the car once it come out. Also we can project the screen a lil out.I still see a good chance.

Linea Dash

Backside support would be a must in any case. I have seen one setup in a safari where it was mounted on the dash. It is still feasible. Here is the pic for that:

A  custom moulding can be used for fitting a 7" screen in the Linea below the AC controls-but this will make the screen 'interface only' taking the video out of the equation.

something like this

or something like this can be tried

Custom made dashboards quality is still few years down in India.

I would for sure not like to mess the beauty of car.

I am still very much pondering on options, like rollup screen on top of dashboard, or flipup on dashboard.

Any creative ideas are most welcomed.
