-there are no 'narrow' sensors-they all come in one size-position them towards the center in your case.

-Dzire VDi-does come with a 'remote'-so no issues there.

I suppose it is to protect anonymity.

or

To prevent theft of identity.

(I think so. )

I guess 'theft of identity' goes more with a car without the number plate than with a car with the number plate.

About  remaining anonymous-well if the poster posts the pics with the plates then that itself means that he/she does not want to remain 'anonymous'!

-is there anything else that is being missed.

I also did not understand the practice of hiding number plates in vehicle images. That is why I posted the picture of my car with number plates exposed.

I have seen expensive cars met with accident on highway, with number plates covered.  That may be due to resale value concern.

I think Bobin means to suggest that we should not post photos of our cars here in the forums with the registration numbers.  That's probably because many people believe that various identities should not be exposed on the nets, as it's accessible at large to various types of people.

@Feroz, just to add... I've also seen damaged cars in garage with number plates removed - resale factor, as you rightly pointed out.
