the ones i have seen range from 6K to 18K-the major determinant of price is ofcourse the LCD screen.

A company called 'Red Sol' seems to have the best value for money product.

One thing I've noticed about the camera is that it is useless in the dark.

The camera shown to me by the vendor was encircled with white LEDs which they say gives clear vision in night. Any how I suggest sensor to camera.

@Binoy
What is the principle of sensors? Infra Red Rays? Will they remit many rays or a single linear one? If we increase the distance will it miss a vertical thin pole like object?

You can live in your car, but you can't drive your house.

Parking sensors work on Ultrasound waves-just like in a Medical Ultrasound scan and not on infrared.

Each sensor sends out sound waves at about 40K Hz and the reflected sound is measured by the same sensor and reported in numbers(just like a ship SONAR).

but you have fitted MGA or any other? it is other than MGA what about car warrentyquote=Binoy Thomas^^] Installing a camera only wont help as there wont be any info on distance nor will there be any proximity warning.

By the way this is what is done in my car:

the outwardly spaced sensors detect movement from the corners-like people walking across the rear of the car-also the separation from the middle sensors are better with this distance in my experience.

the display is a ;hybrid' of the pure LED in Feroz's setup and a LCD-so the individual sensors are displayed at once(there by showing the inactive ones also)
[^^/quote^^]

thats good

only that i would advice the outer sensors(as in Feroz's) car to be placed a little more to the sides(laterally)-outside the red deflectors to cover the corners also.

Here I have a opinion. I have placed sensors slightly close to the sides. This sometimes gives false trigger as the side walls are sensed. So I feel we should not move sensors more to the sides as it may show distence as .5 when actually the back gap is more than 2 meters if the side walls are closer. So a optimum lateral shift is to be maintained.
