Though, I did not face any noise problem after they recently cleaned my car's Break Pads & Disc, I got a call from the dealer that Toyota has sent the replacement part (Break Pads) and they have asked for my car to replace the Break pads. Since, the problem was fixed, I never asked them to replace it. Since Toyota is asking to replace the part, I am assuming they would have noticed some issue with the earlier Break pads. Thought of sharing it as others might want to check with the respective dealers if there is a replacement needed for them.

I suggest you should go for the replacement.  The problem in your case may have been resolved temporarily & therefore they propose replacement.  However, you need to speak to them first & get the assurance in this regard.

My Corolla's shockers and pads have been changed - Yet the noise is there after a few days

Just see the video - how irritating it is

I've got tired of going to the Kolkata dealer - 4 times this issue has been checked

Guys,

Vinay has put in good effort for all of us,,can all the ALTIS owners confirm that this is the similer sound in all the cars.

If thats the case then certainly Toyota will have to look in to this.

Dear All,

Though I was not facing the break noise issue any more (after them cleaning the break pads second time). Toyota today called my car to replace my Front disk Break pads (Part# 0446502210 - PAD KIT, FR Disc).  I guess, they did recall these pads finally. I am hoping that this will fix the issue once for all. In case it is resurfaced, I will keep everyone posted. Sharing it to ensure that everyone who is facing the issue can check with their respective dealers.

Hi,

I'm planning to buy Altis before this month end. As per this thread, somebody said, there are possibilities that, the old car which is in stock may make the sound. What I saw with the dealer is a Sep 08 car. If I buy, I'm sure, I'll be getting that car. Do yo usuggest me to buy this? They are giving me a lot of discounts. Actual on road price is 12.68 and they are giving me for 12.1 with Sun Film and other general accessories. (1.8G model). Please let me know whether I should go ahead with this offer or not.

Thanks in advance.

Sep 08 model isn't old, as such.  Check/ensure that there is no defect, danting/painting done.

Thanks. Can you please give me a checklist I need to inspect with my limited knowledge? How to identify whether it's a brand new car or old other than the manufacturing date? A checklist will help me a lot...
