Yogesh,

At this time I am totally lost as my problem also re-surfaced in 4 days and today (after I called Toyota Customer Care) they came again and cleaned the disc & break pads. For now its resolved, but, they told me if this come again they will have to send the disc & pad to TKM at Bangalore for further analysis and solution. However, according to them mine was the first case that they say where the problem re-surfaced. In case its not resolved, I should try to approach Toyota togather. I will keep everyone posted.

What is VIN?

@Jaideep: Did you got the Rupee 0/- amount bill mentioning the changed parts in it. If not then ask for it, may be they are taking you for a ride and just cleaned the disks in first place.

VIN-vehicle identification number

its an alpha numeral code using which the particular car's manufacturing history can be traced..there are several vin trackers available online.

'stocked cars'-produced and kept in stock for a long time(usually the initial bunch of a new release)-can have problems like rusting due to non-use!

Yes, I did get the Rs.0/- invoice, indicating the replaced part. Sure, as suggested, I will track the VIN. By the way, where can I look for more details related to VIN?

I dont see VIN mentioned anywhere, all I found is following:

- MODEL # ZZE14ZR-GEMGKX

- Engine #1ZZ-3140638

- Frame# MBJ53ZEE207600794-0808

I found this info on an sticker inside the Boot. I do not see any other information visible anywhere else. Please help.

This is your VIN
(only 17 digits)

from this its clear that your car is manufactured in August 2008--(0808--at the end of the VIN denotes the month and year of manufacture).

i searched a bit for Toyota specific VIN decoding sites-but could not come across one(time constrains)-maybe you can try on your own.

To get a basic idea have a look at

this
and

Well my modest Santro too has a very low whistle while braking at low speeds. I guess its nothing to worry about as long as you are able to stop the car in time. Look for any changes in braking behaviour - like the amount of brake pedal travel, stopping time etc. If all these are normal then I guess there's nothing to worry about.
