hi...

thats does'nt make any difference on performance by less driving....but it is lpg is it not recomened for less usuage bcoz the amount you spend more for lpg variant can be use to fill petrol.

ya Ravi...Carcrazy is right.......

it wont make any difference by less driving....except that wen u're driving less...u shud drive atleast 1-2 kms on Petrol wen u start d car....

also....even if we take max 20 km per week...wud mean 80 kms per month....means 960 kms per yr !.......

an LPG kit --(cheapest ) wud cost cost u 12 k....

which means ur wil reach ur break even in 13-14 yrs (at the current rates of both fuels)....so wen wil u save ?....

n ya..if ur ur running is so less, honostly der was no point in going for LPG....

all santros r only mpfi cars which r fit with th auto transmission systems whereby cars r suposed ta start on petrol as many times u start it in a day and subsequently shift to lpg .......... thus th petrol system is used every time and as many times u start th car which automatically provides sufficient uage of th petrol system. it is therefore not necessary to especially run th car every morning on petrol for 1-2 kms ... unless th car is very sluggish at start which can only happen naturally at temperatures of under 10 degrees in normal situation.

as ravi is at hyd and has an mpfi car .................. it shud not b necessary for him ta run th car esp on petrol for 1-2 kms every morning

no Vidhur i disagree at this point...

i used to run my Duo mostly on LPg.....after starting the car in AUTO-mode...i used to speed upto 15 n it changed over to LPG...

bt wid that..the car refused to run on petrol...it used to give too many jerks on PEtrol.....n dis prob was solved by the MAruti guys.....

den after sum time it happened again..... n again...

n after that i started running the car on Petrol for atleast 1 km everyday in d morning...den it became okay !...

i appreciate th problem that u hv experienced karan .... but as i c it ......th problem in ur case is of th incompetence of th maruti service centre mechanics to solve lpg problems ......... which by default .. u hv overcome by using an ingenius but unwarranted and costly method ... that is runing th car every morning for 1-2 kms on petrol

i hv been using maruti and other cars on lpg/cng for th last many yrs at mumbai and not once ... i repeat ... not once hv i had to run my car on petrol any morning inspite of temperatures dipping to under 15 degrees on many mornings ....and inspite of th cars sumtimes being 10 to 15 yr old also ........... in fact th carbo cars that v had earlier .... always started and ran continuously on gas for weeks at a stretch sometimes ... simply bcoz no one remembered ta run them on petrol at al !

n yet th performance of our cars and th milage obtained has been th envy of most.

th point i am emphasising again is .. in tropical climates mpfi cars on gas .. do not warrant running on petrol for 1-2 kms on petrol every morning at all ......... if there r problems .. they hv ta b set right on their own ........ running on petrol is neither mendatory nor th primary solution

coming back to ur case . u wud hv noticed that i hv repeatedly said from observation .. that most car service centres lack expert lpg/cng mechanics for th simple reason that they nvr hired th best in th 1st place ............. existing car mechanics who may b experts on repairing cars .. r given clasroom training  .. and r expected to bcome gas professionals overnight... it is not therefore surprising to c many .... duo  . omnilpg ....... M8oolpg .. and now ... TataPeppy owners under waranty with th company getting their lpg kits serviced with professionals elsewhere on payment

i wud suggest karan .. that if th problem in ur car is persisting .. u shud show ur car to sum professional outside .. in all probabilities ur problem appears to b related to sum setting of th electrical system ....... th switch or th emulator or th lambda

wel....the prob is not as of now.....

i mean if i start changing it over as soon as i hit 15-16 kms per hr on the 1st gear......

after abt 15 days or so..the prob may arise...

n if i take that prob to the MAruti guys ..dey will simply say .."use the car more on petrol.."..

n u r correct abt the Maruti guys.....just for knowledge i once asked him how much shud i drive on petrol everyday ......n i was takin by surprize wen he sed this------ DRIVE ABT 10kms daily on PETROL !!........ oopss...!!....i actually started laughing at that !.....

my coll is abt 12-13 kms away,....so that means i shud run it almost entirely on PEtrol !...haha...
