Whats the cost of fitting in a car? Which cos. are better? Whats the life of these fitments? Do they have effect on the battery - like consuming more power??

Xenon's may come with only with the bulb or with a condenser lens-cost is car and temp range specific and branded ones are quite costly.

They improving the visibility is true for an on coming driver as still a 130/100W halogen will be more powerful-these filaments have a longer life than halogens and the wiring needs to be altered.

Xenons are good, but expensive. Also check with the dealer on warranty before installing. It involves adding ballast circuit which comes as part of the kit.

Both halogens and Xenons will need re-wiring so have equal warranty implications.

My recommendation taking into account all factors is a Philips extreme power H4 bulb upgrade-no alteration/no warranty hassles/and quite good results at not a great price.

H4 is a type of bulb and not the wattage-almost all cars come with this type of head light bulb.

Philips Extreme power is rated at 55/60W and cost 800/- for a pair.

There are two more options

Philips Crystal vision-500-600/-

Philips Vision Plus-250-350/- for a pair.

All are RTO approved and does not need wiring changes
