Okay, but only if the usage is more in rural areas.

Here, as I understand & assume from the asker's post, the usage will be in Metros, National Highways, State Highways & rural areas (the order in which it is stated).

As such, a run of 500 kms per day has to be much more (major portion) on National & State Highways, and only a little in rural areas - for obvious reasons.

1. Obviously the person is looking for a vehicle which can sustain even in bad conditions of Indian roads. 2. He needs comfort, safety, looks, universal garages, and value for money. That's why I select the following vehicles and I list them according to my rating: Captiva: It provides value for money, better mileage and pickup, more road gap, comfortable, more leg & luggage space. Scorpio: Better looks, Strong engine, reliability, good mileage, O.k price, good space and height. Innova: Cheaper compared to Captiva. Reliability, outdated looks but changeable body, space and comfort. Endeavour: Sturdy and Strong, Safe, better comfort, better looks but low mileage.

Diesel Car, Business people here in india normally use luxury sedan's. All the times may travel alone with driver.. need to spend 6hrs every day in the back seat..
I have selected few.. please look at this : COMPARE

A big insult to you by you is comparing your self with others!

I trust the asker will take the remark in the lighter sense if/when he reverts. In any case, we are benefiting

@ harikumar,

if u would like to go for a sedan than would suggest 3 cars- optra magnum diesel LT, skoda laura L&K automatic & volkswagen jetta 1.9tdi comfortline. jetta & laura share the same engine but laura has more features & style.

if u would like to go for a suv than & can stretch ur budget than would suggest go for the mitsubihi outlander, it is a very good car with great features & style but it is a petrol car, besides that u can look at the scorpio mhawk & in muv u can look out at the innova diesel V.

all these cars are very much reliable & durable.

1st u decide with what u would like to go, suv or the sedan?
