I agree that Beige interior is disturbing, but not to the extent some of our friend here are taking it to.

If it was so much of an issue we would not have seen so may i10s on road as many we see  today and and no. is increasing non stop for last 3 years.

I am owning i10 and if ignored while driving reflection does not harm in any way, but if you keep thinking about it then there is no work around and no escape you will keep thinking till you change your car

Lets be practicale, If Beige interior was so disturbing while driving we would have heard many accidents on road due to this and some of them would have got posted here in Car wale also , I have not heard any accident due to beige interior reflection on windscreen.

also one more point of view Hyundai is not only an indian but a global car maker and had they observed in last 3-4 years that the beige interior is so much of problem in 10, it will be a matter of days for them to chnage the interiors .. isn't it?? if they are not changing it there may be reason to it.

I think , our friends  who make comments about i10 reflection should not be biased.

every car has got its issues and advantages i10 has this and I am sure we can live with it as  Ashish said in a post earlier.

above expressed are my personal view, with due respect to all point of view shared by others.

Guys, I searched on the net for this issue, and found that there is no satisfactory answer to this problem. Anti-reflection coating on the inside as well as outside of the windshield will be the most ideal for this issue. There are a lot of patent hits but no product hit yet, so we can assume that this issue is going to be solved in the coming years, and no solution is available at present.

There are people who study it seriously and are surely bothered about the problem it presents.

Krishna thanks for the link-surprised to see the 'topic' to be taken up as a MS thesis topic!

may be, in near future, Hyundai would change the color of i10 Dash like the one in new Santro.  I test drove i10 sometimes back and immediately commented on this glare to the Sales guy.  No doubt its disturbing but not to the extent of bumping into another vehicle.

Solution for now is to keep handy a dark colored (Dark Brown) cloth piece - cut and stitched to size - and lil bit heavy so that it doen't slide when applying brakes. It could be used only during very sunny days.  Other times, keep it rolled and covered in the map pocket.

Never mind what others say, do whats right for that moment!

Rohit is correct. Wearing Polarized sun glasses can help to some extenet though not eliminate the glare. It is only a matter of getting used to it.

It will also remind you to keep your windshield clean. I have noticed there are less reflections on a clean windscreen.

Polarized sun glasses (slightly darker shade) help a lot. I do wear them while driving my i10 and reflections just vanish.

I agree with Vikas, if you let the glare distract you so much then not much can be done.
Still, I would suggest

Hello friends,

It seems that nobody has thought of putting a dashboard cover?

Well, I own a hyundai i10 and the glare does sometimes irritate, especially on sunny days and on a road lined up with trees. Since there are not many tree-lined roads in mumbai, I haven't experienced much of a problem. Frankly speaking, I really do tend to ignore the problem. But I have visited some car accessories shops and found out that there are dashboard covers available for different makes of cars. For i10, black and beige are available. I have not yet bought the same, but I think, it might help in reducing the glare.

If any forum members / readers have bought such type of covers, for any make, please share with us the experience-the advantages and / or the disadvantages....

@ Rajendra, keeping the dashboard cluttered would only give us reflections of those things...Tongue out
