The shop owner who did the seat cover opined that it is better to put the centre seat belt inside the cover. Is it OK?

That is a wise reply. It is better to follow the precautions set up by the govt.

Sorry for creating a bit of confusion here!

There is nothing called 'HYbrid Art leather'-this was a term that i coined(in the initial posts) to explain the use of fabric and art leather material in a single seat cover design.

There is no 'grain' in this as we are dealing with Artificial Leather!!

Besides, it's mandatory for us to wear the seat belts - we can be booked/fined for violating the rules.

As per the existing rules in Kerala only front seat passenger apart from driver should wear seat belts. Any how it is mandatory for manufacturers to provide seat belts in all seats for vehicles having less than eight seats.
In swift dZire only waist belt is provided for the centre rear seat passenger. I noticed many Dzires having concealed this belt inside the seats after putting seat covers. Any way I am not going to do this.

I think the rule is likewise applicable in all states, and most of the cars normally have waist belt for rear passengers.

Actually, while replying earlier, I missed 'centre' (seat belt) & replied as if it pertain to front seats. Sorry for that

@Binoy Thomas: Did you get just the seats in leather? What type leather is it - genuine or art leather? What brand, and how much did it cost you?

Even Stanley's art leather is very expensive. Does Saddles have a website, or a contact?

What's the better choice between PU and PV leather?

-seats are in art leather PV(its non branded and stiched over the std seat covers).

-cost was around 3.5K

PV is a personal choice.

Hi Guys,

I have a suggestion, you can use LEATHER in the parts where your body connects & rest you can use ART LEATHER, which has got simmiler grains as leather.

The grains are simmiler to the one BINOY has posted above. This option was offered to me by my seat cover guy in MUMBAI , but at that point of time i opted for ART LEATHR for my PALIO & it costed me 3600K.

Make sure that you get the cover made by a reputed maker , which fits really tight on the body or else you will start showing creezes after few months.

If you find right guy i am sure you should get this option.

All the best
