The Chevy Aveo faced problems and never really took off. All it had was great looks which unfortunately couldn’t pull in many buyers. The technical bit was where it suffered, it had a rubbery gearbox, poor performance and most of all, the healthy competition. All its competitors are technically better and are more exciting to drive especially the Fiesta and SX4. Moreover, GM, if you are listening, sympathetically make sure that your dashboard dimension doesn’t intrude into the pedal area of the driver. In addition, tone down its color as the existing one echoes light on to the inside of the windshield, occasionally obstructing the view through it. It sucks, you know?

Clearly, we can see that the looks are a carry-over, as the present Aveo is a good looking car and some minor changes will keep it fresh for some more years to come. Not much is known about its debut but we expect it to come soon after the all new Aveo UV-A hatchback is launched. The engines are expected to remain the current crop with 1.4 and 1.6 petrols and the star will be the 1.3 Multijet from Fiat.

yes deepam you have identified the cars correctly-the red one is the cruze-now look at the grill's of the red car - the silver car and the spy pics- the bow tie sits much closer to the bonnet tip-both in the spy pictures and the cruze pictures and unlike the aveo which is more in the line of the straight forward 'bulgarisn beard'.Also have a look at the bottom of the A pillars.

Do tell me your opinion, do quote reasons also.

@ binoy , even i thought ithat the spy pics were of the optra cruze , but as you said , yes the grill looks very identical , but this is Aveo to me , as it is smaller and almost the size of present Aveo( if i am not mistaken ) but this really will setback the case , this aveo does look stunning! lets see how this bveauty from Chevy handle!

@deepam -It may very well be the Aveo- but for sure the grill on the spy car does not match the established grill on the all new Aveo. About dimension yes it suits the Aveo- but to say for certain will be fool hardy.Acknowledging the changed grill and front end is all am pointing out-guess you could not make it out.

@Sri - hope this is the Aveo then again with a changed front end i guess.

Hey guys!!! CHEVY HAS FINALLY LAUNNCHED ITS NEW AVEO UV-A HATCH !!!

Chevrolet today launched the new Aveo U-VA in India. First shown at 2007 Frankfurt auto show, this new Aveo U-VA will be officially available in India from today. Both internally and externally the new Aveo U-VA offers significant advances over its predecessor. This is a serious facelift and the new Aveo U-VA gets bold styling which imparts its new sporty image. The bonnet follows the lines of the radiator grille. Eye-catching contours, which flow from the bonnet to the A-pillar, highlight the sporty look. The fresh design of the new Aveo U-VA is an extensive revision over the previous model. Only the windscreen, roof dome, and door outer panels are carried over from the earlier generation vehicle. The gigantic grille at the front and fake fender vents gives a muscular appearance to the car. GM’s new Aveo U-Va back is dominated by the solid bumper and the round tail lamps in a clear-glass housing.

New Aveo U-VA is powered by the same engine that powers the current one. The 8Valve, SOHC engine has a maximum torque of 110Nm at 4400rpm and a peak power of 76PS at 5500rpm. According to General Motors, this new Chevrolet Aveo U-VA would return 14-15kmpl in the city and 16-17kmpl in highway.

Similar to the older car, the new aveo U-VA also comes in three variants - 1.2,1.2LS and 1.2LT. New Aveo U-VA is also loaded with plenty of new features such as 14 inch alloy wheels on top end 1.2LT variant. The top end variant also gets larger profile 185/60 tyres, leather gear knob and rear spoiler. 60:40 foldable rear seats is a standard feature in aveo U-Va 1.2LS and 1.2LT variants. All the three variants of the new aveo U-VA gets a digital clock.

The prices of the three variants of new Aveo U-VA are

New Aveo U-VA 1.2 –Rs3,98,000

New Aveo U-VA 1.2LS –Rs5,04,000

New Aveo U-VA 1.2LS –Rs5,10,000
