By the way, a person known to me booked Swift VDi yesterday (02/09)through a local financer (also known to me).  He will be paying 30K premium & getting the car on Saturday (06/09).  I enquired with the financer how was that possible - he only smiled & despite my enquiring again didn't reveal anything.

Such back-door entries add to the waiting period of Swift/Dzire

I booked my Dzire vdi on mid july and is informed by my delaer yesterday that it will be ready next week for delivery. But my happiness vanished as soon as I visited my dealer (Dewars), as they have arranged a Dark Blue car for me instead of my booking of Clear Beige. I refused to take and they acknowledge their mistake and now I am again in waiting list again!!!!

Be very careful while taking delivery of the Maruti cars- because of the demand they will try and give you old stock.
Actually maruti sends the car to the dealer against your booking name- ask for the transit papers for the car and check the engine/chassis number against your booking name and cross check with the car that you have been given.

Dear Binoy,

Old stock of Dzire is not available with any Maruti dealer as it has a premium of Rs50,000.00 in market why should one carry with old stock? However your suggestion is very true for other models like Zen estillo, Alto, Wagon R etc.

that might be the case in kolkata but not so in Kerala-our dealers have stock of dzires(petrol)..Old stock is not the only concern but cars damaged in transit might be refurbished and sold to the unsuspecting buyer.
