Dear NDK, Yes, we too read the same but we weren't very much surprised. They drove in almost ideal driving conditions that you or we can not drive in our cities. That track was flat, smooth, no-patholes, no traffic, AC-off, windows-up, driving at flat-60 kmph speed. So what mileage they got might be quite possible. You might feel good, Wow! Fiesta TDCi can give 31 kmpl but you will never be able to match this figure ever. Neither you will get to have that track nor those wonderful driving circumstances.

If you are referring to Fiesta TDCi then be assured, it will give 12-13 kmpl in city easily. Petrol Fiesta 1.4 has 11-12 and 1.6 has 10-11 kmpl mileage in city.

Well.. i get an average of about 15-16  on Fiesta TDCI..... but again Banwari sir is right about the driving style and conditions......

One of my cousin gets above 18kms per litre on ANY given car...... his secret..... he doesnt go above the speed of 55 EVER !!! and he drives on Neutral Gear alot, when there is enough momentum !!!...

I think there is a significant price difference between the Indigo Dicor and the Fiesta TDCi. On that count, I dont expect the difference in actual fuel efficiency to be enough to warrant purchasing the Fiesta.

But the Fiesta is much better on other attributes. Do remember that diesels are more expensive to maintain, apart from having a higher upfront cost. If your running is less than 1000km/mnth, consider a petrol option.

If you are decided on a diesel, test the Verna VGT. You will be able to tell the difference. A lot more driving pleasure.

If disel is your option then take a look at Logan also, morever it is a good built car and priced very well.

Features also seemed quite good.
