The All new Toyota Corolla is set to launch in India with its refreshingly sportier look. The design has been inspired by the latest Camry. It should be be here around October 2008.

Check out the pics & the latest update at  All New Toyota Corolla

So the Launch date is confirmed to be on 5th September 2008. I would be having a closer look this weekend. Would update on the features & my experience.

I am definitely looking forward to this car. I like the Camry a lot but its a little out of my league. If the new Corolla is anything like the Camry I shall definitely give it a serious thought. Besides Toyota has always mainted high standards and quality.

There is a site I came across [http://iwebie.com]. It gives some nice info.

Ya, I have also read about the launch of Toyota Corolla Altis on http://blog.carazoo.com/2008/08/toyota-to-drive-new-corolla-altis-in.html

I have also heard that this is a wonderful car with innovative features and impressive appeal. I am in a dilemma whether to buy this car or not. Can anyone help clear my confusion.

hi raju.

if u r planniing to buy this car than just go to ur nearest toyota showroom & book one. it is a wonderful car. i had an invitation from the dealer to see the car so i went on sunday & saw the car, its awesome & infact booked one for my uncle.

in features its much more ahead than the civic & it looks very good just like a mini camry.

But what is the Price Ex-Showroom / On- Road ?

It should be expensive than the regular version of Corolla ?

I am in Indonesia and the Altis is here since long time.

However, still, I feel that Civic is a better car, much better.

It is not prudent to compare the 2 cars - though Corolla is new that dosent mean that it is good car. As the link for the gallary suggest, Civic is still way ahead and futuristic car.

the difference for the 2 cars can be expressed as  :

COROLLA - you drive fast

CIVIC - you fly low

Honda has character while Toyota's are sterile.

Here (Indonesia), there are many toyota's cars which are not there in India like :-

Yaris - looks like a frog. Against that, Honda Jazz is very good with excellent interiors.

Vios - Like Honda city. The car is OK.

Altis - Civic is better.

Camry (New) - the Honda Accord (new) is better. But again, Camry is still acceptable for Accord levels.

I am not biased towards Honda cars but the fact is that right from Yaris to Altis, the Toyota has specific styling for the front bonet and grill -

Here, the local taxis are also Toyota - sedans. Something like Vios.

Toyota Rules the party here and Hondas presence is nothing compared to Toyota. They are very reliable cars but the major point to sell these cars are to keep the price below a similar Honda car.

Thats wrong strategy - make cars equivalent to Honda and then make a healthy competition.
