very good product, provided packaging (after sales, spare part cost, offering extended warranty), and pricing is correct. successful platform, ??? why the pump de(skoda laura)engine. i dont understand.may be due to quality of fuel. WVs are bullet proof in terms of quality, but very very expensive when it comes to spare parts.

VW products are good no doubt, but their pricing is pethetic. Skoda is their brand and see how badly their cars are priced, rather over priced. VW is premium brand then skoda in other countries therefore don't expect Jetta to be priced any where logical.

There seems to be a missing logic in terms of pricing. May be the model is based on profit than market share unlike the Japanese/Koreans. Time will prove if the model is OK for India. The Indians I know are not very emotional about the product. They will balance between price, performance, after market etc...

I was at the Launch of the Jetta in Mumbai. Though the cars are excellent in quality, the pricing of various models against the trim levels offered were dissapointing. With only 1 petrol variant with no major features was a dissapointment. While only the Automatic desiel had everything loaded.

The Jetta TDI looks a better option than the honda civic and corolla which are in the same price band, after recent price hike lot's of people are shifting from Petrol to deisel version.Other than Skoda no other competition. Good deal.....
