@rathish: The reverse parking sensors are car independent. The xenos one mentioned by binoy is the best of the lot available.

Dear all,

I have a query  for car aprking sensor and I think a person, who is using the same at present, can help me out.

I have installed a Circuit-i brand 8 probe car parking sensor ( 4 front & 4 rear) and I am facing a problem, which is due to its design. When any obstruction is within 0.4m or less, the parking sensor is showing 0.0 reading i.e. it does not show the distance if the obstructoin if less than 0.4m.

I am looking for sensor which will show reading 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 if I bring the car nearer to the obstruction.

Can anyone suggest an 8 probe sensor with this feature in India?

Does it require the bumper to be drilled? In that case it voids warrenty?

It does require the bumpers to be drilled.

It wont void the warranty(I guess).

Fiting a good system like Xenos should not tapmper your warrenty, because they are fitted by the Xenos company people itself. Moreover the same personals are fitting this on dealerships.

So always get it fitted by the security system company people, which will save you from warrenty concerns as well as cost.

i have got reverse parking sensor for my Alto .though i was reluctant to buy this at first ,i was later forced to buy cos of the dealer saying i have alredy drilled the car and cannot replace it bk.

it cost 4790 which i think is too costly for it .it is fitted in the rear view mirror and i got to know it is by circuit-i/circuit eye.now i am wondering if its from MGA also since they are dodging me in givin the warranty card for it .To rub salt on my injuries ,from the beginning i had prob wit it .It always displays STOP even on an empty road .i have called them to check it and hopefully it will get resolved .

This will go down as one of my greatest mistakes of my life .

Shreyas welcome to CW!

If you consider this the 'greatest mistakes of your life'-let me assure you that you have had a fairytale life till now! lol.

On a serious note-5K for reverse sensors for the Alto is daylight robbery.

I got my Reverse sensor installed for my NHC. Cost me Rs.2200 for 4 sensors with one year warranty. I dont know the brand. This was drilled into the rear bumper. The display is a rear view mirror,. When you engage the reverse gear, there is a colorful display in the IRVM which gives approx distance and also has an audible beep sound. As the distance reduces, the beeping sound increases too. I dont even need to look at the mirror while reversing. Just following the sound is enough.
Have managed to save my reverse lights on a couple of occasions, when the sensor showed how close I was to the car parked behind.
I would recommend this reverse sensors for peace of mind and if you are not confident while parking your car.

Hi,

I need to get Reverse Parking Sensors installed in my Honda City, can anyone suggest me which one would be good and an estimated cost?

Also would like to know if set of 4 is required or 2 are sufficient.

I am also confused between getting a Reverse Camera fitted or just sensors?

Thannks,
Ankit

It depends upon your need. You can check out a reputed brand as xenos, autocop, RD etc. Do not go for chinese brands which are a hassle in the later stages due to a weak after-sales.  I would prefer the ccamera only, as it will cover the blind spot that cannot be viewed from either mirrors. Hence, its more than enough.
