acha ravi.i m finally gng wid JBL GTO607c in my front doors...
do i ned to get anymr speakers for my rear doors.ya pir khali hi chod dun
wat do you suggest...???
I m nt gng for any Amp & Sub. so i hope 607C will giv g8 sound.i saw freddie advicing you to go for pioneer.
tell me finally JBL aur Pioneer speakers.....also.i will be highly g8ful if u can tell me pricing..??

To be very honest, Component speakers deliver to their potential when driven by an amp... Since you are not using the amp, there will not be MUCH difference whether u go for a poineer or JBL speakers.. That was not to discourage you. In case you ever want to go for an amp in the future, go for JBL just coz they are better at that cost. Pricing wise, mrp is 6500/- but u can get it for 5K or less too.. Depends on where u buy it

If you are talking abt the rear doors, its totally your call... if you really need rear fill u can go for it.

nothing much u can do abt the reflection on the windshield.
If u are planning only for the speakers, 2 channel amp is fine..
You can go for JBL, Blaupunkt or anything as per ur wish..
But in case u r planinng for a subwoofer, then u will have to go for a 4 channel amp, where u can drive the components using 2 channels and sub can be driven by the other 2(rear)..
I'm not exactly sure abt 2 ch amps but they it cud start around 3K may be...

Personally what I feel is that the JBL range available here is quite mediocre. Sure they have some good speakers but I reckon as those are expensive they aren’t marketed here. The Pioneer Kevlar range is not only good but also built to last. I would have suggested Kevlar for the rear as well (Model No. TS-E6996 – Oval or TS-E1796 – 17” Round) but that would probably be a bit overkill. Use Kevlar where it counts – Front Components. If installed properly no Coaxial comes even close. Always remember one thing – Every Company is going to try and sell you their product and they would be foolish if they did not tout it as in amongst the best. At the end it’s your money and choice. If given a chance, try and audition the suggestions that I have put forward and judge for yourself before you take the plunge. Also, why state JBL as the best – there is a huge choice market out there – Alpine, Clarion, Sony, JVC, Panasonic, Eclipse (what I have installed) etc. and specialist companies like JBL, Polk etc. – it’s a maze. Sure someone else can perhaps suggest a better combination than what I have offered and it could even be cheaper but bear in mind the availability, cost and maintenance also. Almost all the suggestions that I have made would be available at the famous “car accessories lane” at Opera House in south Mumbai. There are other areas in Mumbai but I am aware of only the south as I stay there.

Hope this helps…

P.S. – As and when you do install your sound in the i10; do post the final configuration here, preferably with the satisfaction level achieved. If you must have another option to ease your doubts – query the Polk rates for the same configuration and then have a “dekho” at their stuff too. They do have a pumped-up Swift as a demo car. I assume you would have your basics in place when you do that – ours is an i10 and that is a Swift, plus a demo car, which must have been meticulously tuned. Contact the Polk dealer – getting his number through the ads placed in car mags like Autocar India etc.

kartik...
Components not necessarily require an amp but their performance is uncomparable with/without amp... They perform to their potential when driven by an amp.
JBL or Pioneer - depends on you.. each of them have their own pros n cons... Audition both of them and take which ever u feel like...  I spent abt 40 K on my car audio (would have been 60K had i purchased everything in India).. I hv JBL comps in the front and co ax in the rear ... u can check the split in my earllier posts... Speakers also depend on the kind of music u listen to.. I love the output that i get in my car.. I gave u a suggestion based upon ur budget..
By now, u might hv understood why shopkeepers say that as it is NOT mandatory to have amp to run comps but YES it is mandatory to have an amp to run a SUB. You can definitely attach an amp and not hv a sub...

Whereever u r purchasing them, they are quoting a very high price...
I am not sure which city u r from but try to do a little research across various shops. NOt sure how much wud that HU cost but 8K is too expensive.. and JBL 607c also wont cost u that much... u should be getting for 5 - 5.5 K max...
