Hi, I got a tomasetto achiile CNG kit installed in my WagonR a month ago . Now it runs normal in city at average speed of 60 - 65 km/hr but when i take my car on highway and drive few kilometers art the speed of 80-85 km/hr the car engine is off when i reduce the speed of car and i have to restart it . I got the car to the dealer and they adjusted its RPM but of no use .I faced the same problem the next day i drive it at the speed of 80-85 km/hr.

Since its cold outside is there any problem due to cold weather .... or there is some alternative to this problem ..

please tell me if u have faced the same problem ...

I don't think the problem is related to rpm or cold weather.  At high speed,  the engine gets insufficient CNG supply.  Like Vidhur has said, get it checked from the most reputed/best CNG retrofitter in your city - not all retrofitters have that much of expertise.  This is not a problem commonly faced & there should not be any issue in rectifying it.

Please revert once the problem is resolved & tell us the details thereof - for the benefit of all. Thanks.

hi friends,  thanks a lot for the feedback ..it was an interesting experience with the C NG problems... I was really  shocked, that how the authorised dealer can mislead the customers... I will tell you the sequence..

I was facing the problem because my driving habit is, to neutral the car at high speed when i see any stoppage in the way ... so that car can cover some distance due to the inertia .... with petrol there was no problem at all.. but with CNG the car was not able to maintain the flow at high speed therefore car engine stops whenever i keep the car neutral after attaining high speed ...

the dealer from which i got the CNG installed told me to get the car scanning done .. in which throttle valve is cleaned but this is a costly affair... He told me that there might be the problem with sensor of the car ...

but when I took my car to MSM i.e. Maruti Service Master they gave me the right advice and asked me to not to keep the car neutral at high speed ..... and the car is running fine even when its cold outside.... now my problem is solved ....

Thanks to MSM for the right advice.. and thanks to u all for the advice... great learning from the problems...

Thanks Sumod for an update on how your problem has been resolved - it will help others.

By the way, I would like to know on what did MSM say - is it a feature of CNG cars or a problem commonly faced, and that, can it be resolved?

Hi Pankaj .... actually they told me that the same problem is faced by some of the cars in which they installed the kit .... although MSM dont install the kit in private cars .. they install it in taxi only ... and during the training it was told to the service engineers ... this problem is also faced by BRC kit cars...the bottom line is to keep the car in gear specially at high speed.... take care..

But what actually I want to know is whether this problem can be resolved - can you drive in neutral at high speed without the engine getting switched-off.

I think it should be (resolved), as, as you said, this problem is faced in some of cars they (MSM) have installed the kit - and not in all cars.

In case you are not aware, I request if you could enquire with them. Thanks, in any case

Sumod....pls start your car in the morning DAILY and let it idle in the petrol mode for 5 mins whether you run the car or not. Your prob will be resolved.
