I request if you can post your query in a new thread under the forum 'Performance Modifications'. I suggest so, as your query will be noticed & discussions would comeforth well.  Here's a LINK to do so - just type a title & your query in the space provided therein below, and save it. Yes, Swift is priced very competively and it is full of features. Unfortunately, a closer look at the car tells that Maruti have not done enough. It is a bit sad for Maruti to have selected the same engines as on the Swift for dezire. The diesel version which is extremely adored by the nation as a hatchback might feel a bit sluggish or if not sluggish, it will surely be less fun to drive. Wonder why Suzuki is not bringing in the VVT engines to India given that they have been a exceptionally successful across the world. I was expecting a 1400 or 1500 CC engine or atleast a reved up 1300 engine, but they have come out with the same one.

Secondly, getting 5 people in it is still going to be an issue and rear leg space is still going to be an issue, so, the car continues to be a city car only and not the one for long drives - maybe suitable for a  long but uncomfortable drive. And while using it for city confines, the extra boot is seldom used - it is more of a drag on fuel really.

Last but not the least, I don't know if people at Maruti dislike Biege - the interiors stay as they are - no changes. The ZXI / ZDI comes with biege colored fabric seats and the dash remains grey - somehow, I didn't like it - maybe my personal choice.

Thanks to the long gearing in a Swift, one needs to shift down to climb up even if they maintain a decent speed - but it was fun. Now with a extra boot to pull, one needs to shift down by 2 gears instead of one.

I agree prasad that by keeping many things like engine, wheelbase, width, tyres etc same as swift,  they have disappointed people a bit. It shud have surely got some more power, space(legroom & back seating space) & the much liked beige dashboard.

But on the other hand, it is also offering many good features usually found in top end models which is certainly an added advantage. The price at which it is offering, to keep it competitve against likes of Ikon, Indigo & Ascent, it had to make some compromises. Hence I feel it is still worth a car as compared to others in the segment. What say guys..

No doubt MSIL again have unleashed a winner!!

I have a small question. When one looks at the spec sheet for "Safety & Security" features of the Dzire it is mentioned that for Lxi / Vxi / Ldi / Vdi under 'ABS with EBD Brake assist' it is mentioned as (P-valve). Could someone clarify what does this stand for?

I also felt that for Lxi / Ldi / Vxi / Vdi model they should have retained either Tilt steering or driver seat adjustment.

As far as I understand it, IT means you an added this feature into above variants but at an additional cost of purchase value.
