Thank you Banwariji, I got it from a friend of mine & never bothered to chk the source of it. It is written by someelse but not a copyright one I suppose. Anyways it will be great, if carwale can come up with their own checklist.

We all can probably contribute by pouring in our experiences.

cheers

Vishal,

It was not copyright material but uploading someone else's work without his permission is not a good idea, right?

Yes, you all can help in developing this check-list.

I will do one thing, I will figure out the most basic things and put them together in a post. Then anyone can suggest and help in improving the guide. Once done, it will be published in main Tips & Advice section.

@ Banwari, that's a good idea.  I suggest you start a new thread for the purpose - it will be more beneficial & fruitful for obvious reason/s.

I have now being driving my Dzire Vxi for close to 2 weeks & have driven more than 400 kms now, mostly city drive. Though I am not a car expert or something, here are my findings as below:

1. The features in the car are good & the entire interiors look good. The cooling is also good.

2. The music system is decent enough if you are not a music enthusiaist looking for a blast of a music.

3. Pick up is good, though after 2K rpm, driving becomes really pleasurable.

4. I have driven twice with full loaded boot & 5 passengers, but didnt find it sluggish or so. May be difference is close 2-5 % below 2k rpm.

5. I sometimes felt it to be sluggish in 2nd gear with A/C on. You have to really push the accelerator to make it go. Dont know why it happens sometime.

6. The drive is smooth, even on patchy roads, suspensions seems to be adequate

The problem areas are as follows:

1. While driving on high speeds( beyond 80kmh), I felt that it is not that stable. Since I was driving in city, I did not get much chance to stay for long at such speeds to notice in a better way, but I felt the car is not very comfortable. Dotn know the reason for same, whether it is the R14 165/80 tyres which many a times I felt are not sufficient for a sedan or may be some engine tuning. May be those who drive Zxi model with 185/60 R14 tyres can comment upon this if they ever felt the same.

2. I have driven Wagon R, Logan 1.6 & Ikon Flair, but even at a speed of 100kmh, I felt evry stable n comfortable.

3. Please note that the driving on high speeds was not with loaded boot & I was alone in the car.

The other thing I noticed while going through the manual is, the maximum weight allowed in the car is in tune(with all passengers & loaded boot) of some 1500 kgs (Dont remember the jargon of what it is called)

Now the kerb wt of Dzire Vxi is 1026 kgs. Add booth space of 464 kgs & it becomes 1500 kgs here itself. Now if all 5 passengers are adult in it & we assume an avg wt of 65 of each, we got to add another 325 kgs which exceeds the gievn maximum wt by a huge margin. Isnt it that they have goofed up something here or is it I have some worng calculation. Pls correct if I am wrong.

As far as fuel efficiency goes, since it is new, I feel it is going to be at lower end & I feel currently it is around 8-8.5. How much time does an engine take to come to normal full efficient working.

If anyone else has similar or any other findings, pls post.

Pankaj, did u get a chance to test drive the Dzire petrol. Let us know ur experience if done.

Cheers Vishal

Well you have got your calculations wrong...

Let me explain..the 464Kg you added is not in kilograms....its in liters...its the volume of the boot and not the amount of weight that can be put in..let me assure you that if the boot is loaded with 400+kg and 5 passengers the car will become un drivable..the boot might take 2 large suitcases and a bag..... my guess is somewhere around the 150kg limit.

Nice review, keep the updates coming, the liftoff oversteer(the unstability at high speeds especially on corners and part throttle)..is mainly due to the tyres..getting good ones(185+) is any dzire owners priority.

Thanks Binoy for corrections. I would really want to know if the unstability is only due to tyres. I am ready to go for an upgrade of tyres to 185/70 R14 which are provided in Zxi/Zdi, but if the problem is just because of that.

The dealer is charging around Rs. 15000/- extra for the set of 5 tyres of 185/70.

Has anyone who bought Dzire upgraded the tyres. If yes, let us know ur rvws. I know as of now there are handfull of ppl with Dzire, but anyone who can help us. This will also help others waiting in line for their delivery to surely go for tyre upgrades when they take delivery itself.

Well the instability is mainly due to the tyres the other major reason is the change in weight distribution and aerodynamics due to the addition of the boot because the semi independent rear suspension of the dzire was basically designed for a hatchback.
Well about tyres..run away from the dealer....my friend and i went and got the tyres changed to 185 from an independant tyre shop..thats the way to go.The reason is the ZXi also comes with JK/MRF branded tyres and there are better tyres for far less available from the tyre dealers perse.Take the car to the tyre dealer and get the  tyres exchanged with imported ones..the dealer will take the old ones back for 600-1000rs per tyre..depends on the condition and the 'newness' of the tyres..(my friend got 900/- for tyres run 150 odd kms..).
The brand i liked the best id Michellin XM1+...very good quality/long life and low noise..the mileage also does not go for a toss..these are available for 2900-3200/- depending from where you purchase them...so by paying about 8000/- extra the swap can be done..
Other good brands are..yokohama A300/bridgestone GT3..etc..

Hi Vishal , the tyres which you have now is not of great grip and is narrow , the 185/ 70 R 14 tyres are best suitble and your presnt set of wheels would be taken back for around 1000-  1200 rs , plus New 185/70 R 14 Bridgestone G3 would cost you 3300 per tyre which means after exhcange 2300 rs pe tyre, at the same time you could go in for the 185/70 R 14 Good year tyres which would cost you around 2850 rs , so 2850 - 1000 = 1850 per tyre , which means you could get set of 5 Good years of around 9k rs and bridgestone for around 11500 rs

Keep updated,

Cheers,

Are the above mentioned tyres all tubeless ones as the current one is. I would like to go for the best, even if it means paying Rs,200-500 extra per tyre.

I know Michlen & Bridgestone r amongst the market leaders in tyres, but I would like to go for the best which keeps me away from all the troubles for atleast next 3-5 yrs.

Also at the same time I dont want to compromise with the basic specifications of the car which will annul my car warranty. Pls guide.

Thanks.

Vishal

Vishal peresntly there are 3 est companies in tyre markets those are Yokohoma , Bridgestone and michilin , all 3 will cost more or less the same , at around 3300 - 3500 rs per tyre

I think you shud prefer the Yokohoma first followed by bridgestone G3

185/ 70 R 14 tyrres!!

Cheers,
