UNENDING WAIT FOR DEZIRE DELIVERIES

wonder why noone has potested against practice of maruti dealers , forcing buyers to buy additional acessories worth 25-30 k in lieu of ready delivery of vehicles, the same practice continiues for swift diesel models , takes us back to days when maruti cars were sold at preimums in black market , how is it possible under nose of suzuki officials remains a mystery , wonder why people dont want to raise this issue ,

in this age of competition maruti delers r making a killing by fleecing consumers by forcing them to takein accesories which r overpriced in a way they r charging undue preimums on vehicle deliveries , n maruti being a sarkari co , officials do not seem to be aware of this practice ,while any customer walking into a maruti dealership can tell u that its far easier to get a dezire or suzuki vdi if ure ready to shell out a few bucks more for the vehicles or wit endlessly 3-4 months after p[aying the booking amount

Mind you this isnt a photoshop job , hope the pic is loaded

Cheers,

Sri

I didn't see any kind of such practise out here in Mumbai. Infact I offered my dealer to give me an early delivery by taking some premium, bnut they refused saying that if things like such become known in market, their reputation will be badly hit. Also with the no. of bookings done against the supply, the gap is so huge currently that by doing such a practise tey cannot fullfil demands of customes.

May be some small time dealers may do it but not authorised maruti dealers. You can lodge a complaint on Maruti's website for this or  call up 1800 1800 180 to register a complaint against such dealers.

it is highly unlikely for a direct dealer to behave the way as described - yes, there can be one off cases like this, but since I have faced issues during delivery of my car and hence my enquires have revealed that every dealer is closely watched by a Maruti Sales executive - Infact the wait listing at the dealer is maintained at the Sales Executive also - Any kind of goof-ups done by the dealer would create a mismatch in the lists that the Maruti Sales Executive maintains and the dealers maintain.

It is however possible to get the Maruti Sales Executive into the loop and work for you - but for this one has to be extremely influential and I believe the early bird Dzires are all going that way.

I test drove the DZire and feel that the pick up is no way less than that of swift. Afterall, how much difference would an added boot of 30 kgs make? Nothing.

Abhisekh & Happy Dude, I suggest you test-drive Swift & Dzire simultaneously.  In both the test-drives, try the following....

  1. drive steadily at 40/50/60 & then accelarate without changing to lower gear.  Try this with & without AC - in both cases (AC/non-AC), you will notice a marginal difference in pick-up/accelaration of Swift & Dzire.
  2. drive constantly at any speed (say 70/80 or less/more) with AC on.  Thereafter, without changing the speed or accelaration, keep switching the AC on & off - you will definitely notice a marginal difference in pick-up/accelaration of Swift & Dzire.

Nevertheless, notwithstanding the comparison, Dzire has got good pick-up & accelaration.

I don't think it is a widespread practice. I have bought 5 maruti cars till date and never faced this problem with any model. So why should dzire be any different. Yes there is a waiting period and buyers get irritated because of this. But Maruti Dealers as far as i know are not into this kind of unethical practices. If one has come across such a thing, then must put in a complaint with maruti customer care immediately.

The Dzire, the sedan version of Maruti Swift is a rocking car. It is more luxurious and spacious too. The Dzire is a replacement of Maruti Esteem. Only time will tell us if it will click the swift hatchback.

Yes, but it isn't spacious except for a couple of inches in the rear seating (in a few versions) & has additional boot.

Please don't compare its spaciousness with that of higher end sedans.I think the space is quite sufficient for a famiy of 5.

The "couple of inches" comparison is with none other than Dzire's counterpart Swift. As such, space/comfort in Swift/Dzire, when compared to other cars in its segment, are not the best.  Nevertheless, it may be quite sufficient, as pointed out by you, for some families (of 5) - it all depends. Anyway!
