Swift Dzire recorded sales figures of 5685 units in just 5 days a record for any sedan sold in india !!!! any reactions???

Thanks for sharing that information. I also took a test drive and loved it. I feel people are unnecessarily making a hue and cry about lack of space. I found the space sufficient for 5 people. Wonder why people are not looking at the features it offers above the competition. VFM is not space. It is the add-ons you get.

Yes, VFM is not space but it is neither the features alone.  VFM is, in fact, related to price of the car vis-a-vis the features, mileage, space/comfort etc. etc. it offers., and the engine performance.

Regarding space comfort of any car - may it be Swift/Dzire or Logan - one can feel the difference only on regular use.

I went to the showroom to check the Dzire... the exterior looks ok. Not dashing but decent, however the interiors are jus too good. It really makes u feel that you are in a sedan and give you the luxury feeling. I'm glad that maruti is offering Integrated music system in the Vxi verson also, unlike in the swift it offeres it only in the top end Zxi verson.. Its a bit bulky, but the engine and the comfort is very good. I believe that you have to compromise in some aspects of the car. At the end of the day, its a good family car, low maitainence, good engine performance, good milege, and decent on looks. I was also planning on a ford Ikon.. the engine performance is the best in its class and the looks are perfect..however the maitainence is just too high and the milege is a bit low. The waiting period for Dzire is 2 months. Its jus been a week since its launched!!

You are right. VFM is all that you have stated. And i think swift dzire is high value on all these fronts.

I felt that the tyres provided on the Dzire shud have been better ones & same like that of ZXI/ZDI i.e 185/70. The ones in LXI/VXI are same as that of the Hatchback. I usually have a city drive of 500 kms per month & a lon hihway drive wud happen may be once in 2-3 months. Can anyone pls suggest whether shud I go for same tyres as provided in VXI or go on to put extra money for the ZXI tyres. I am buying a petrol VXI.

Pls help Pankaj, Banwariji, Sri.

Thanks

Briefly.... for the type of your run/usage, it doesn't matter at all - so don't spend on upgrading.

I also feel that with most of it in city driving the addititonal cost does not make sense.

Thanks Saroj & Pankaj. But I was thinking considering the extra weight of 30 Kgs added due to boot + the boot having a capacity of 450L. If I fill it up with atleast 300-400 Ltrs also & hae to go for a highway drive, then will the current tyres sustain or will it be a problem.

Let me know if the above thing asks for a change or it is still fine to be with same tyres.

In my opinion, it is not required even from that point of view.  If you upgrade, it's better - but actually not required.

By the way, VDi & ZDi have 185/70 R as compared to LXi & VXi's 165/70 R, as their kerb weights are more by 100 kgs or so.  ZXi also has same as in VDi & ZDi, though its kerb weight is only a little more than LXi & VXi.
