Getz diesel vs Swift diesel

IS getz diesel engine better then swift diesel engine.Whats mileage is expected in getz diesel considering its same engine used in verna.

both the diesel engines are compareable.....the hyundai engine is a powerful one but u cannot say swift an underpowered car......it also has a decent power.....in terms of technology both are almost at the same level.....the mileage too is comparable to the swift....the plus of getz is that it has ample of space whereas swift is a bit cramped from the back and the boots also very small.......

Both are good cars: swift: positive side: looks,price,fuel efficiency,straight line stability. negative side: small boot,interiors not roomy. Getz crdi: Positive side: cute looks,comfy interiors especially back seat,rocketing engine,fuel efficiency,great stability. Negative side: Price tag,cheap looking interiors. Overall: swift:8.5/10 Getz:8.6/10. This is my small help to new car buyers.

overall getz diesel is a much better car than the swift, its only drawback is its price else it is much more powerful than the swift, much more spacious, more boot space, 1-2 features are more in gets than the swift.

if money is not an issue & u need a mini rocket standing in ur garage than getz crdi is the car to opt for.

Unfortunately, the market of Getz Diesel didn't pick-up as it otherwise deserved to - and I don't think the price alone attributed to this.


Honesty is not a Spare Wheel that you pull out when in trouble. It's a Steering Wheel that keeps you on the right path throughout the life's journey.

but pankaj in al aspects such as performance, space, boot & features getz is ahead than the swift. i agree that the price is too high but who need sheer performance & who r willing to pay a premium than they can offcourse buy.

I feel all Hyundai cars excepting Santro (which made a very early entry) have received a lukewarm response when they were introduced. I fear there are 2 reasons for this: 1. Hyundai brand was not that well known 2. Styling of Hyundai cars was quite sedate/moderate.

 

Even in the sedans the Accent picked up primarily due the fantastic CRDi variant and that the petrol one really was priced very decently. Even now i feel it is unfair that the Accent GLE is priced lower than Getz GLX. Just have a look at the comparison @ LINK. They are almost equally specced (with the existing differences of ABS, rear wipers etc) but the Accent is still priced less!!

 

The Getz is internationally getting replaced with the I20. I feel the price of the Getz (if Hyundai persists with the Getz) would come down. Hope they do continue the Getz. I also feel that had Hyundai come up with the 1.2L engine (if not Kappa then the previous version) with the Getz before, it would have yielded better results. It is a beautiful car no doubt, but i guess was let down by it's sedate design & perfromance.

Even though the two engines are CRDI the Swift.Fiat MJD is more tech packed because of the multi jet injection used. More over the Swift.Fiat MJD is the winner of 'Engine of the year' below 1.5L in 2005...which is an international accolade.
Having said that the Getz engine is larger and more powerful and will show the Swift a clean pair of heels.

I vote for Swift VDi.

But I personally would like to own a Fabia out of the lot, i.e. among all the cars of this segment.

Be it Palio, Swift, Getz, Icon, or any other car. Fabia is superb in its class.
