My running will be 1200kms.I also doubt if honda will bring car with diesel engine. But i hope it does since all other major company are bringing car with diesel options.

So what should i do go for verna or city

As the Cost Price of City and Verna Diesel is same , and as the Fuel price hike around the corner , i think its always better to go in for the Verna Diesel , eventhoguh your running is 1200 kms a month,  see mee my running is 1200 kms and i took the Swift VDI and i save a lot in Every refill,

VERNA DIESEL

Cheers

SRI

I too would say that if you plant to travel 1000 to 1200 or more then defintely verna CRDI.
  1. There wont be any extra cost inititally as both come at nearly same price
  2. Verna CRDI is a refined deisel engine so there wont be too many issues regarding a run-in period or maintainance.
  3. Verna in diesel gives very good mileage so you will have significant saving in fuel cost.

The only thing i don't like about Verna is it front looks very bland.Hyundai should have done better.

Well let me give you a more detailed view as i have recently taken a TD for both the vehicles.I was too a little confused to go for Petrol or Diesel.

Let me make clear the segment of people for both the cars:

1. Honda City - Mostly young, energetic, brand concious, dynamic, stylish, adventurous

2. Hyundai Verna - Want a sedan only & mileage concious

Dear friends, to be frank there is no such comparisons between people deciding between both two cars. The segment as u can c is entirely different

People who go for Honda City damn care for mileage & who on earth can say that Diesel drives the same as Petrol. Petrol engines engineered by Honda are as smooth as silk. Honda cars enhances individuals Brand equity. It makes people look twice when it passes by.

As for Hyundai Verna, not a bad car though, the segment differs entirely. For those who consider mileage as the foremost thing can blindly take Verna & then forget about all the abovementioned factors.

Now do i need to speak 'bout Petrol or Diesel??? Rate yourself what you want from the above factors, the answer is there itself.

As for me i will be most probably going with the ANHC!!!

How about a Hybrid Car. With the stop and go traffic in most of India, Hybrid cars should be cheaper long term.

since the guality of diesel in india is not that good, there is no chance for diesel version of honda city and your  running is around 1000kms.so it is better if u go 4  petrol cars...
