Amrinder,

In three years you wont be able to recover the money that you will spend if you buy the Verna. Four and a half years to five is what will have you get that money back with a diesel car. If you could tell us as to which version of both the cars you are considering, we can help you to have more accurate data. Both the cars are capable machines and would not give you any trouble.

Ashish is rite...u wont be able to recover the extra cost u'll spend on Diesel......n actually buying a Diesel is not just for "recovery" its to SAVE !!..... well AShish...do u remember the thread wher we all were discussing abt the extra investment made for Diesel,the extra maintainence...more frequent servicings...sum formula's.etc etc...... that thread mite be of help to AMrinder...n he can calculate how much time it'll take him to recover his cost......

Hi all ppl here..

M e too a proud  owner Verna 1.6Xi petrol version.  She's  a solid awesome looking beauty!  Proves "teh BOS' of   the roads. I love it.

Then reg. mileage.., I got 15 km/ltr, from teh start. (for 30 ltrs-BPCL-Speed petrol), she has done  450 kms., in city. !! I drive not more than 2000 rpm always. I dont see the speedometer at all.  I drive based on teh rpm meter. Any experts can advice if  I am right.

The looks:    At nights, the dash board lookks like a cocncord flight's cock pit!! Great !! But, I feel the driving seat can be a little higher? I am 178 cms tall. HOw much have I raised teh seat, still my thighs dont rest on seat. I feel sinc eteh leg sare long, they fold high , especially teh right leg. Can't keep a cushion too, as this makes the back (!) go into deep!! Any suggestion on this, experts??

Another  thing, teh moving distance of teh Gear lever is more. Hyundai design engineers may look into this. from 1st to 2nd it is 3 inches move, I think!!.For reverse, it is more than 4 inches???

I have another query, please:

Teh locking is Silent. A car accessaries freind says, he can fit in a hooter, taht will serve as hooter when u take reverse ( it  will hoot continuously) and hoot 'once'  when you Lock and hoot 'twice', when you Unlock. But another friend warns me that attaching this hooter may affect the  electronic circuit system of  all teh arrangements, like power windows, A/c, mirror, central lock, etc., as a whole !! y dealer plays a tacit listener, comment snothing on this. Please advice me. any experts here!!

Thnaks fo rpatient reading of my write up.  I can guarantee one thing! Any New car searchign friends... BUY this Hyundai Verna..YOU will not repent!!!!! this is for sure!!!!

Catch on you sooner....

Pugal !  (not pagal..he

15 kmpl.........wao.....mine is going at 12 kmpl....might be i need to take some driving tips from you other than that....its a complete car....everything about it is good

Some driving tips::

1. When u r back home, park the car in reverse, facing the gate ; so next day u can drive  straight forward ; in the mornings  when engine is cool....drivign in reverse will burn more fuel.

1a. If ur house portico is at higher elevation to the road, then  take care to stop ur car mauch ahead of ur gate. The once gates r open, u start roling ur car in good smooth speed, so as not to rais eteh engine to climb the higher level in short distance.

2. Just drive with seeign teh RPM meter; take care not to rais eengine abover 2500 rpm; U may change gears to maintain this rpm at different speeds;

3.at signals (if its more than 120 secs. U may Off the engine).

4.  After u started off, n found that ur mobile is in house, n u call fo ru rwife or kid,  Off teh engine, instead of waiting impatiently n shwo all the anger in teh accelerator, after u get ur mobile!!

any more  if comes to my mind... I will  post...soon..

bye for  now.

RIchies

thanks Ricjie for the tips....i hope i will be able to get it up to 13-14 atleast but it all depends upon driving conditions as well where u drive. r u driving in delhi ? the way to my office is preety jam packed in the mornings, have to apply breaks and then clutch...i guess that can be one reason for slightly low fuel efficiency
