Hyundai Verna - Performance and mileage

I booked SX4 Zxi but later cancelled when maruti dealer told me that they have stopped its production for time being as there is a quality issue with the car. Production will start after the quality issue has been taken care of.

I now have booked Hyundai Verna instead. I know that Verna is not packed with goodies as SX4 is but i think Verna is better on performance and mileage than SX4.

Please suggest if you think same or therwise. I need to make cure that i go in with the right choice.

Thanks

Vikas

Hi Vikas,

You've not mentioned as to which one did you go in for? The petrol or the diesel Verna? The diesel is surely better both in terms of performance and mileage, but the petrol, overall, is more or less similar to the SX4.

Vikas,

As I said, the performance and mileage advantage falls in favour of the Verna diesel but there is not much of a difference between the SX4 and Verna Petrol. Verna scores a bit in ride quality though while SX4 has a tiny advantage on the handling front. To have a better idea, visit this. Thanks Ashish for that prompt reply.

I want to buy a car which will cost me lesser through out life. My budget is 7 lakhs. And my monthly usage will be around 1000-1200 km. I guess going for petrol version will be right thing. So the cost comes down to mileage and maintenance.

Vikas,

You are absolutely correct. A petrol makes more sense since your running will limited to 1200km/month. As for having peace of mind as far as maintaining the car is concerned, both Maruti and Hyundai offer comprehensive service. You wont go wrong with either car. If you need a car for normal city driving, any of these two cars will do just fine. Mileage of both the cars fall in similar land, hence not much difference there as well. Go, drive both the cars and then take a decision. Keep me in the loop.

Hi Karan, thanks for your wishes. got my beauty couple of days back. its all class, be it exteriors or interiors. AC is very powerfull....so much that i caught cold ;) very early days in terms of mileage. i filled in 25 litres and got 250 km in the first two days.....that makes it 10 km per liter. i hope it will go up after regular use and more so after the service.
