I think Dealers make money by "offering" it to us . It is just a superior polish they apply which lasts longer . Teflon to be "oated" has to be applied at a temperature which will melt your car ... so there... It's just a good polish. If you have the money - go for it

Is Amway Silicon Glaze recommended for polishing the car? Anyone used it? I have used it a couple of times once every month or every two months and it gives a great shine. It even removes minor superficial scratches.

HI THere,

I have booked an i10 Sportz and thought of going for Teflon Coating and Antirusting. Dealer is offering 5800 rs for 5 Teflon Coatings with Antirusting and Engine Polish (I am not sure what it is). He is saying that he wil be using a company's product called Wurth, which is better than 3M. Could anyone of you please advise if you know about this brand used for teflon coating?

ALso the Car is in SOlid colour, is it ok if we go for solid not mettalic?

Your help is appreciated

CHeers...

Teflon coating is a very good choice that i made when i purchased my car 6 years back. It still has its shine and does not get easily scratched.

The ones which dealers offer for free are just polishes, so its not of any significance. Teflon coating is not just like waxing, a special process is followed in its application which is not similiar to polishing. Always insist for the warranty card and make sure it is done in your prescence with the person showing you the contents of the pack and other resources. Otherwise this is an easy way for the dealers to cheat you by not carrying out the required procedure.

So insist on brands like 3M, Dupoint etc and make t done in front of you only. Even UBC coating for my SX4 and teflon coat were done right in front of my eyes, as i insisted

Also, there are two types of cating depending on age of the car

1. Paint Protection(New Cars)

2.Surface Enhancement(for older cars)

Any method there, for testing, whether Teflon coating is applied or not?

Firstly your own eyes for evidence- Get it done in your supervision

Secondly, Insist on proof of purchase and warranty card
