I am buying Chevy U-VA, dealer is offering me FREE Teflon & Antirust coating. Is it a good idea to go for it? Whats the benefit of Teflon coating?

I am going for Velocity Blue Solid Colour.

Cheers

Azad

Teflon coating is just a type of polish to keep the surface clean and increase the water resistance.

You can go for it if it is free otherwise is is not required, just the normal polish is okay.

If you can exchange the cost of teflon with some other accesory then check that out also.

If it is for free then there is no harm in getting it done especially the under-body anti-rust coating.

The cost differs from car to car & provider.  The warranty in some cases also comes with 2 subsequent free coating (within 1 year's time).

Teflon coating, to my understanding, helps retain the original colour & shine of the car, and also avoids very minor scratches from penetrating onto the original surface.   Therefore, if one desires to go for it, he should go immediately after buying the car - so as to get the optimum benefit of it.

Hi Azad,
Did you finally get your car teflon coated or not.

No, it doesn't get washed off.  However, the effect is not permanent as well, it wears-off over a period of time.

By the way, I'm told that after you get teflon coating done, you shouldn't wash your car with water for a couple of days.
