There was an i/v video with Fiat-India CEO posted at vicky.in however as soon as he mentioned Linea the video got over so could not get much idea.

Anyone has any idea about timeframe when it will be launched in India. As per my discussion with Fiat-representative in Auto expo the price range shall be 8.5 to 10 Lakhs.

Cheers,

Rajeev

The Video of Fiat Linea

Yeh te Linea would cost around the same 8  -10 lakhs  ex showroom price , it might be lauched this Mid 08 or late 08

I own a Siena. It can still compete withsome of the new gen cars.I love the ride quality.Absolutely no regrets. It would have been a run away success if Fiat had paid a little more attention to its looks. They tried a last ditch effort by putting out Petra which was not good enough to change the minds of its customers.Hope Fiat learns from its mistake and come back with a bang. They should also plan to bring out atleast one or two new models every 2 years like their rivals. Good luck Fiat! We are waiting for you.

sameer, linea looking very great.still indians have the faith on fiat perfomance.but now in present competition and fiat market position in india better to keep the linea price below the price of ford fiesta and verna for at least one year to grab the indian market as early as possible.as per my knowledge already fors d fiesta sales coming down. verna and renalts logan got good name in the market.bteer to keep the linea price in bitween logan and hyundai verna.better to launch this as early as possible in india.

Hi,

I have read in auto magazines that Fiat is planning to fit a 1.3 liter multijet engine. If its true then I am not sure how market will react to it, since hatchback like swift and Indica will have same engines. I hope Fiat will rethink on this, they had once provided 1.9 liter diesel engine in Palio.

If i am not wrong then the MJD engine could be re-tuned for requirements. So we could expect the MJD engine to be fine-tuned (or finest-tuned) for FIAT cars. Like in a parallel post (Turbo vs VGT) i wrote that the same 1.4L TJET engine from FIAT could be altered to produce 105bhp, 115bhp or 148 bhp (these bhp figures are on actual versions of the car).

Again i think FIAT cars score over others in terms of build quality & mechanics. So there really should not be any competition or threat. However the only weak link which may appear when the MJD arrives on the current Palio would be the PRICE. I am sure the Palio would be price wise little more expensive.

FIAT LINEA would be a treat in waiting for the Indian car lovers. I was praying for this car to be launched in India, the moment I saw this car's photo in the Turkey auto show and very glad that the prayers are heard. FIAT should launch the fully loaded version of LINEA at a highly competitive price (between 7 -8 lacs) but lesser than Fiesta, Verna, etc and you bet, this would give the other car companies a run for their money. Another thing Fiat should ensure is the service charges. The other car manufacturers are charging exhorbitantly on the Car services. If Fiat would compromise on this as well, then there is no looking back. And I very much feel that this car has the potential to be 'The Car of the Year for 2009', no doubt. I m eagerly waiting for this car to be launched and replace my Ikon. ‘Nothing else will do’… Hope this would be launched in July-Aug 08 all over India at the same time.
