Yeah - to sum it up its all upto one's convenience. By all means if one is comfortable with N2, so be it - its their choice...and it does no harm anyways, apart from costing some Rs. 25 (air costs zero to Rs. 5 at the petrol pumps depending on if you want to tip the operator).

I just purchased i10 and it has tubeless tyres.

How frequently do I need to check tyre pressure? and where do I get these tubeless tyres inflated again? Do normal air filler workshops have this set up?

I don't have any theories, but I felt very comfortable after switching to nitrogen. Car is running much more smoothly. May be initially the tyres were overfilled but car is running smoothly on the infamous Kerala roads.

@Niraj, Once a week is good practice. Tubeless tyres are just like normal tyres. Nothing special is required. Your regular corner pancharwala will be able to fill air without any problems.

@Krishna,

So if I say - tubeless tyres can have normal air and need not have nitrogen (which was my assumption). Will that be correct statement?

What is recommended nitrogen or air? What would be in tyres originally when I purchased car?

in simple nitrogen air is thicker than normal air about 20 times means the molecules in nitrogen air is thicker than normal. so the volume of leakage of air from the tubeless tyre is less than that of the normal. so u can drive more and can find convenient place to repair. for this reason  u can find nitrogen is better than the normal for both tube less and tube tyres

Note from MODS: You own a nitrogen filling station, so you may think it is justified to say whatever you think is okay for making Nitrogen filling appear better. But you need to justify what you say, and this is post above is an example that you are not making that effort. Nitrogen is NOT 20 times thicker than air, it cannot be.

Any further bogus claims and you go off the forum.

Also avoid quoting directly preceding post.

nitrogen air is 20 times thicker than normal air?? But air IS 78% nitrogen, so how can 100% nitrogen be 20 times thicker (denser?) than 78% nitrogen?

From the above discussions, it seems that practical users are finding better riding comforts with use of N2 in thier tyres. I am agreeing with users of N2 on the many advantages like, once ina month filling, ride comfort, easy negotiation on curves on high speed drive etc. But the most imp thing is it is not popular, not easily available even at big citieis and in many places very expensive.(luckily in Coimbatore ARC bunk at Mettupalayam Road, it is offered free for regular customers.)The discussions here reminds me of a famous scienitist and his assitant who measured the volume of a multishaped container. The assistant was practical and made it simple in 2 minutes and the Scientist took lot of calculations and arrived the figure after 10 mts or so. Phds please excuse.

Please mind your language (underlined above is offensive) - MODS

kovaipurush, there's nothing wrong in opting for N2 if it is free/priced at par with air. But a huge premium (like Rs.100/- or so) is not justified, given the spotty support for maintaining it.
