well..yeah .. net weight means only the content in the container....

sir... does that mean the the rate of LPG per kg in petrol pumps is 25.62 /0.6  =42.7 Rs per kg !!!.......  Thats just 15 paise lesser than the price of regular petrol in Delhi(42.85) !!.

anyways,i wanted to ask why is Auto gas that expensive ??... i know their's no subsidy on it,but after some calculations,i have found out that AUTo Gas is still turning out to be expensive even if we cut the Subsidy of cooking gas to Zero.

Any answers to this ??

mechanism as in ??...

And what are the physical differences in the cooking gass cylinder and the Lpg toroidal tank used in cars ?

Karan,

Anurag is almost right. To be more precise, 1 liter LPG weights 0.651 kg. We get LPG (AutoGas) in liters. CNG is sold in kgs.

if anyone would like to have the LPG  VS  CNG comparison syatement you may alwayss me with your place of the location .

LPG, Liquefied Petroleum Gas, gas becomes Liquid when subjected to low pressure.

LPG is in gasious state when subjected to normal temperature and pressure or more. One of the reasons to convert it into Liquid is to achieve better handling.

1. It is technically wrong to give covertion factor of LPG from KG to Liters without mentioning the temperature and pressure.Reason is, it varies based on different pressure/temperature conditions.

2. LPG is in LIQUID state while in fuel pipe ?
Technically speaking thats possible only if the pressure in fuel pipe is
equal to atmospheric or more. Based on the above fact I think LPG remains liquid untill it comes under normal pressure.

While filling the LPG to the Car it remains LIQUID all the time untill it is released into the combustion chamber.

3.Main difference between contents  of Cooking & Auto LPG is , Cooking LPG is Propane. Auto LPG is Propane + Butane. These mixture results in different energy outputs.

Cheers
Azad

abt the dfference between LPG for HOME USE and AUTOGAS.... is AUTOGAS is Propane + Butane... what effect does it have on the engine, which is ofcourse designed to work on AUTOGAS and not on HOME LPG.... i've seen ppl transfering Gas frm the HOME LPG cylinder into their cars n i kno its a punishable act. But apart from breakin the laws, what i want to know is what happens to the ENgine then ??..

There is no difference in autogas and cooking gas, both are propane+butane(65% & 35%), these might be in different propotions as for automobiles and cooking purposes, but only slight difference.

Using a LPG cooking gas cylinder is a punishable act because we buy that gas at subsidized rates, that is it costs more than what we pay for it, rest our govt. pays, and they are doing it so that every home can afford it and is strictly meant to be a cooking gas only. Autogas is not available at subsidized rates and we are paying for it what it costs in actual, moreover standards applicable for use of LPG in vehicles is different, its not safe to use a cooking gas cylinder in Cars, one can easily notice the smell when such car passes by.

Is it so?? I don't think, the storage cylinders are designed so as they don't get effected by the outside temperature, moreover due very high pressure, the temp. inside is also more than atm. pressure thats what keeps the gas in liquid form
