Well, I have to eat my words there, the ticketing has indeed begun before the official sign-off on the track. However, it clearly shows that people concerned deem that to be just a formality.

The prices, as expected I woudl say, are a bit high. the 2500 starting price for the south end. It will not have any stands as such, just about a hill towards the end of the track. there will be giant screens, but not really any experience of witnessing the formula-1.

All good tickets start from 6000 onwards, going upto 35000 for the grandstands. The details of the track and stands are there on the bookmyshow site.

All those expected to be there for the race, can you please add your names to this post? I am starting it by putting in my name first. Simply keep on adding your names to this list. We can then review it a week or so before the actual race, and maybe plan a Carwale get-together around it as well Smile

its just 35 grands Manish. But sorry, I am not a sponsor

However, I agree that the prices are exorbitant and even then there is huge demand for tickets. Now even the ofline sales have started. So availability is going to become an issue for all tickets except the ones for grandstand.

Yes,

That indeed was spectacular. Just goes to show, that if private parties get onto organizing something and if they get adequate support from local authorities, they can do anything out here. Another extreme example was cancellation of the Metallica concert in gurgaon. Reasons are still debatable. Organizers say it was crowd that caused it, but reports are that crowd only got rough when they came to know that event has already been cancelled.

About the F1 race, just two glitches: 1. a dog on the race track on Friday and 2. a lot of dust and dirt around.
While the second problem is due to the fact that it is a newly built circuit, and the grass will take its own sweet time to grow, the first glitch never should have happened. Good thing it happened right at the start of the first practice session on friday and never got repeated again.

Apart from that, India have produced probably the best rack in F1 calendar and have recorded the maximum number of spectators on a race day. In a couple of year's time, the seating capacity will be almost double. What a spectacle that would be.

Kudos to everyone involved. Great work!
