Sun Block and Heat resistant film

Hi all,

I've booked a Swift Vxi model from Kothari's in Pune. I am getting Garware 50% heat reduction, UV 99% reduction on sides and rear and 3M for the windscreen (again 50% heat reduction). The dealer said that these are the genuine accessories that MGA provides and he is giving 3 years warranty for any kind of bubbling / colour loss etc. I was thinking of getting it from outside earlier but since the MGA prices seemed reasonable, as of now i have decided to go ahead with them (still in two minds though).

For Garware: 2500 /- total package and 3M: 3500/- the guy told me that if i want to get it from outside there will be a risk of losing the warranty.

Can anyone tell me if i'm getting a good deal? Oh and its a black swift. Appreciate your responses.

- Sunfilms

         - Front : 3M (70% visibilty) with 3 yr warranty @ 6500Rs

         - All : 3M (50% visibilty) with 3 yr warranty @ 3590Rs

The deal you mentioned looks good.And fitting sunfilms from outside doesn't void warranty since no cutting of wires or anything is done. The dealer is just trying to terrorise you.

I'll say go for 3M total treatment. It costs a bit more but is worth it. the cooling effect which you get in a 3M filmed car is quite significant. I have experienced it since one of my friend has done total garware in his i10.

Just a query does that 3M with 3500/- include front windscreen or just the doors and tailgate. Since it's not possible to have 3M in all windows in price of 3500/-

- Make sure you do underbody treatment from some good shop since it is must in Pune with all the dirt and water getting logged in rainy seson. You can find the details abt underbody in the above link.

Welcome to the forum.

Garware is a good choice and is generally given by the car dealers as a goodwill. However, in the open market, this can be done for lesser than Rs. 2000, so you may want to try there. Same will be applicable to any other accessories which any dealer sells, so make it a point ti check outside as well (if you wanna save some $$$  and of course if you have the time and inclination for the same)

For 3M i am getting only the frontscreen and not all sides and rear. Sides and rear are Garware. My only concern is that...can i get better heat block films (i am getting 50% now) for the similar amount i intend to spend in the current deal?

I'll get the undercoating done during first servicing from the dealer itself as I feel safer dealing with them for these critical things

Well for warranty part, he was talking about warranty of the films (in case of bubbling) etc. Its my 2nd car now so i know how i got cornered for the first one won't give in.

Hey Vijay thanks mate. As L2D said you can go for garware they are also good and yes they are but not as much as 3M . check out the other dealers who sale these products.

What is the dealer charging you for underbody. Please let us know th amount so it will help other members.

You can do the undercoating or other accesorising from dealer but make sure the prices do not have much of a difference as L2D said.

It's always better to save the hard earned $$$$.

Undercoating in mumbai costs between 3- 4k with a 5 yr warranty as well.

I got MGA price-list from the dealer.

Under-chassis and teflon coating cost 3850 bucks.

i dont think the dealer will give u any warranty for anti rust coating. Pls check on that front.

Webgenius is right. Anti rust coating costs around that much.
