It has not changed - the restrictions are same since long - as per rule 100 of CMVR 1989 - 70% for windscreen & rear windows and 50% for side glasses.  And the specifications of the glasses should be as per IS 2553 - Part 2 - 1992.

The above info has been gathered from elsewhere - if you have any reference contarary to the above, please share - will benefit all (though off-topic).

Regarding AGMT, as stated before, it's not carried in normal circumstances... (please read 2nd para of my previous post).

I was thinking to put a the light green coloured sunfilm on the front windshield to prevent sunlight &  reduce high beam intencity of the opposity car. I guess its a nice idea

Check for visibility issues & RTO approval.

Adhere to rules like Pankaj said.

Front sun films are totally different. However you do have coloured films.

Dont expect it to reduce sunlight much and beam. But it does reduce heat and glare due to the material it is made of.

Forgot to mention - It will burn a hole in your pocket.

Thanks everybody as i saw light green sunfilm so i said i perfer colourless which should look as if the windshield is normal & nothing additional is sticked on to the windsheildCool cool right.

Car itself burns a hole in the pocket then u have to look after it nicely then  the hole in the pocket starts to expand like the ozone hole Laughing.

I saw a Sunfilm in my friends car which was TOTALLY white ! i mean you wont beleive it,but it was mirror-like-white!

Ofcourse the car will be pretty cool from inside, since HARDLY any rays could pass through them. And at night one cant even see the co-driver!

I don't know how the police do not catch or even stop them.

But my question here is,WHY, WHY on Earth would a Sun-Film-maker make such a film?encouraging rebells or what ?

AFIK these kind of films are not for Automobile industry. Its for Architectural purpose and to use for  buildings.  But its a common practice that many of the car accessory guys stocking this and installs based on customer request. That is the reason why these kind of dark films deos'nt meet any VLT standards defined by CMV rules

IMO we can't blame manufactures . We need to blame the car owners &  Law enforcement group's.
