After much of research and discussion in different Forums on Carwale.com, I zeroed on buying Indigo Manza Aura Saffire. Now as far as I am going near to book it I am getting new revelations. I got to know that Indigo Manza is not registered as BSIV Vehicle but the engine is as good as BSIV Compliant engines it just need some fine tuning. The prices has gone up by 2% after Budget and it become 12k costlier. Dealers have both the options BS III and BS IV. But if i opt for BSIV Engine it will be 12k costlier again. I am ok to pay this increased price for next generation engine. But when I had a talk with Concorde Dealer in Bangalore they told me if I take delivery afetr 31st March 2010 cars will be again costlier by 12k as road tax ans VAT on cars is going to increase by 1% each.

Now I am in dilemma what to be done. Which variant of engine should I chose.

The details of price is mentioned below.

1. Indigo Manza Aura Saffire BSIII 6.09

2. Indigo Manza Aura Saffire BSIV 6.21 If I take delivery of the vehicle before 31st March 2010.

3. Indigo Manza Aura Saffire BSIV 6.33 If I take dlivery of the vehicle after 31st March 2010.

These are the prices communicated to me by Concorde Dealer located near Hosur Road Bangalore.

Please suggest me what should I do. Should I wait till April 2010 to have BSIV? Should I insist for Delivery before 31st March to avoid that additional 12k?

Your suggestion have always helped me in taking decision for zeroed on this car. Please give this final suggestion to have this done

Thanks.

Well Nitesh, BS-IV ready engine does not offer any technological leap over the current engine and is only tuned differently to meet the norms.

After April you will only be to buy the returned engine, that too at a higher cost.Dont hesitate to get the car before March 31st and pocket the savings as well.

Thanks a lot Binoy for your quick and prompt reply. You mean to say that there will not be any difference in the performance in the engine after BS-IV Norms applied.

What about the limitations or re-registering the car if we decide to move to any other metro? That restriction will be there right.

Have a look at this thread/discussion - it will help.

PS: BS-IV norms would apply w.e.f. Apr '10 in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore (your place of location), Hyderabad, Pune, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Surat & Agra.  At present (prior to Apr 10) there won't be any issue registering a BS-III car at Bangalore or any of these cities - but in case you happen to relocate to one of these cities in future, you will not be able to transfer/re-register BS-III car.

Thanks Pankaj,

I have read already that thread i had confusions in my mind that is why I have asked this questions here.

If I go by this suggestion there I should buy car now before 31st march and BSIII complied as BSIII and BSIV doesn't make whole lot different as this engine is already BS IV ready. It will save me additional money on BSIV complied engine and raise in taxes.

what if I change my city to Delhi in near future will I be able to pay taxes and drive with old number or I have to sell car in Bangalore and buy new in Delhi.

As stated before (subsequently in my previous post), transferring/selling the car in the cities listed above (expect Bangalore) will be a problem in future.

True.  If you are sure of relocating to one of the said cities, it's better to wait/pay a little more for BS-IV version.

So that means if in near future BS V comes it will be same right. Then I think better to go for BS III compliant car only to have the benefit of saving as I am not thinking of relocating in very near future.

Selling/transferring the BS-III in Bangalore (where it is already registered) will not have any issues.
