Well upgrading the tyres to 165 wud make you bhave a better road grip and perfromanc wud be good too!

Well 155 " is the wideness of the tyre in MM  , and upgrading to 165 , you wud be like upgrading 1 cm! and this means you rfuel economy wont be bothered much , there might be low but maybe around 0.5 km pl less thats all!

Cheers,
Sri

Ok now, I got some news.... I have driven about 350+ kms, so I was told by the dealer that my tyres can't be replaced anymore. I need to pay the full price now....... So tubeless tyres is not an option.... ( In a way it's good as it would avoid a confusion b/w tube/tubless tyres because  the cost of new tyres is quite high)...

In case I wish to add alloy wheels( got some cash to spend on the looks), my tube tyre size is 155/65/R13 is my tyre size, so

1. Which size alloy wheels should I go for - 13"/5" or 13"/5.5" ?

2. Which brand - Plati, Neo or Aura ? ( I am not getting any warranty on Plati. Neo/Aura have warranty but the dealer told me the warranty bit is subjective and depends on driving conditions).

3. Is putting the alloy wheels on tube tyres an issue ? ( The tyre may suddenly go flat  during  a puncture and the rim will have to bear the impact resulting in a permanent damage to the wheel).

Cheers,

Rishi.

Well idont think there wud be any issue of puting tube tyres to alloys! , i really dont think for VXi you shud fit the alloys as it comes with good wheel covers and looks good! well choice is yours   , coz alloys are expensive!

Plati brand wud be a good! , i would give you some suggestions regarding the STyule and spoke ( if you dont mind ) take the one with thick spokes and Less number of Spokes ( in order to prevent Bending of alloys in bad roads )

i think 13 " X 5 is enough for WR

here is the Design   ( i am not talkign abt the brand , just see the Design and the alloy)  http://www.alloywheelsindia.com/full-product.php?id=70
http://www.alloywheelsindia.com/full-product.php?id=277 ( select anything like this type in PLati brand , Neo brandor Lenso Brand , u cud also try the HR)

DONOT SELECT THESE KINDs   -  http://www.alloywheelsindia.com/full-product.php?id=51 ,   http://www.alloywheelsindia.com/full-product.php?id=24
http://www.alloywheelsindia.com/full-product.php?id=18

i hope you got my Point!

Cheers,
Sri

Thanks Sri, I had read one of your posts earlier suggesting not  to buy wheels with more than 9 spokes, so I had that at the back of my mind while I was browsing through the available designs of Plati, Neo, etc...

13" X 5" is not commonly available on most designs..most of them I found are 13" X 5.5".Would that be an issue ? ( Rim would protrude slightly outwards from the tyre...may result in chipping). I may reconsider buying alloy wheels  as even I feel that the looks with the present wheelcaps are not bad, if not comparable to alloy-wheels.

It may be slightly off-topic, but will adding the K&N filter improve the performance ? It is costing me 3500/- and the dealer informed it will raise the BHP by 10-15%. ( I seriously doubt that figure though).

Cheers,

Rishi.

@Rishi,K&N filter doesnot have any significant effect on the performance. The only thing it increses is MHP(mental horse power) coz of the sound Laughing

May i know which company supplies the alloy wheels for maruti suzuki sx4 in india?

just thought i might end up finding the source so that i can catch hold of the kizashi alloys 17''

wish i get hands on them before kizashi actually launches in india...
