@ Arvind ,

the waranty wont be Void at all , in here many people ( swift customers ) around 80% have upgarded thier tyres , so no harm in it at all! if you want to make things clear why dont you just ask your maruti dealer itself!

5.5 is the dia of The rim , usualy it comes in 2 sizes the 14 " 5.0 and 14" 5.5 , in 5.5 size rim , you cud upgrade even to 195 " size whenever your next tyre change due comes! anyways your are buying alloys so most preferably go for 14 "  5.5 size!

Cheers,
Sri

Hi Sri,

Thank you very much for clearing all my queries. Well i finally got delivery of my car last friday and i have upgraded my tyres on that very day. Went for Michelin energy XM1plus 185/70 R 14 and neo alloys of 14" 5.5.

I can feel better handling though hardly drove with standard tyres so can't compare.

And i filled nitrogen in my tubeless tyres as recommended by that tyre and alloy dealer.

Thanks for everyone who gave their valuable inputs to help me decide.

Will come up with my experience once i complete some 300 kms.

@ Sri

I got wheel balancing done free of cost but the tyre and alloy dealer did't do wheel alignment, he said it is not necessary as it is a brand new car. Any comments on this?

As of now just completed 150 km and i guess the mileage is coming around 12 km/l. is it good considering first service is due at 1000km.

Also would like to know if there is any run in period for this car? coz dealer did't tell me nething about what speed to maintain uptill how many kms.

Your viewpoint on this, please.

I did get them painted silver( the bumpers) and had gotten fog lamps retro fitted. Think the paint job cost close to 5.5k. Thanks to the incredible driving skills of lorry drivers , one of them bumped into my car when it was stationary 2 weeks ago. There is a small dent on the rear end with a small scratch on the dumper. To get that corrected, they quoted 2.5k :|
Jeez, these guys are a rip off !!!

hahahaha , lol , you are really suffering under Frontline automobiles eh ?? but some times the parts are like that and no one can help it , the Bumpers hit canot be made proper easily as its a plastic one , if its small they can fix it but for big ones they sugest to change to a new bumper

For Wheel covers , go to No fear in Balmatta or else you cud also try the newly opned R style in Falnir or Overdrive Formula1 car accesories in Pumpwell!

Sri

Hi Sri,

I got 5 michelin enery XM1+ tyres in exchange of MRF ZV2 for around 11400. and neo alloys(black machine) for around 16000. did i pay more for tyres or alloys?.

Also suggest me a good music system, i am going for JBL speakers around 45 rms front speakers and 100 rms back speakers, but still not decided on the music system. And i tried JVC but it is not playing MP3 Cd's. I bought 2 MP3's and for both of them the system says please eject!. Ur comments please?..

And how do u rate braking in swift vdi without ABS?. is it good enough.?

Thanks for your tips uptill now. Will appreciate if you can help on this too..

Hi Guys,

Just bought a  new Wagon R Vxi a week back ( had a Zen Vxi before). However, I feel the car is not as good in handling and performance as my Zen.

Coming to the point, I want to know if :

1. Switching to tubeless tyres would help. ( I have Bridgestone tube tyres right now).

2. Adding alloy wheels ( Aura/Neo/Plati) would help.

3. A dealer has quoted Rs. 2500/- for replacing my stock Bridgestone tyres with Michelin Tubeless XM1. Is it a good deal ?

4. I have also got a quote of Rs. 11500/- for the 13'' Aura alloy wheels ( a set of 4). Is it a good deal ?

Thanks for patiently reading through my queries. Your prompt response shall be highly appreciated, as I need to get the replacement done this weekend itself ( if at all it is needed). I am NOT concerned about the looks at all.

Cheers,

Rishi.

well as you have used your wagonR for a week, the dealer has quoted less price for your present tyres , well i would prefr you go with bridgestone tubeless tyres along with Plati or Neo or lenso alloys! well Alloy wheels has nothing to do with handling or performance , i personaly have a new WgaonR VXi , and its simply good! had fitted it with tubeless bidgestone tyres! you could Upgrade the size of tyres for the same rim say 165 /65 R 13! Bridgestone G3!

Cheers,
Sri

Thanks Sri , it helped.

I am not going for the alloys or tubeless tyres anymore. No alloys as I won't get any significant increase in performance. Though tubeless tyres are considered to be safe , no tubeless tyres, as my driving is primarily confined to the city at speeds less than 60km/hr ( I know I am taking a chance here)....

Personally, I always felt tubeless tyres are heavy on your pocket as you may not discover a puncture in the tyre until the tyre goes completely flat , and you need to scrap the tyre.

However , I may consider upsizing it. I currently have Bridgestone ES322 ( 155/65/R13), will upsizing it to 165 have an impact on the mileage and improvement in Performance ? Again , I am not bothered about the looks at all ...

Thanks,

Rishi.
