Hi Friends,

I have booked swift vdi 2 weeks ago and will be getting it delivered soon.

I want your expert advice for alloy wheels, i want to put alloy wheels on my swift vdi of 14" and want to upgrade the tyres from standard 165/ 70 R 14 to 185/70 R14( which are standard in swift zxi).I am concerned about performance and other technical problems if any if i go for it.

Your experts comments please

Hi Arvind upgrading tyres for the Swift is a good idea , and 185/ 70 is just the right size to go with , and there wont be any tecnical problem nor anything with the performance and you get a better road grip !

get the Bridgestone G3 or the yokohoma Tyresor Good year! 185/ 70 R 14

HR and Plati are the type of alloys you shud BUY!

Also see to it that you choose the alloys with  not more than 7 spokes and not thin spokes too!

Cheers,

Sri

Hi All,

I have decided to go for 185/70 R 14 tyres of michilen energy XM1 for my swift vdi, and with alloy wheels of 14". I have few doubts which i need to clarify.

1. does alloy wheels with broader tyre will reduce my mileage by around 4 km/l? if no then how much will it get affected?

2.is suspension of vdi and zxi swift the same? y i am asking this is because i am upgrading to the tyres which are standard in zxi.

3.will it make sense if i go for only alloy wheels with my standard 165/80 R14 tyres whose make is JK tornado.

Your expert comments please

Wont reduce your milage of the car by 4kmpl but a marginal decrease in Milage maybe around 0.5 kmpl - 1 kmpl thats all , upgrading wont make any harm on your car , need not worry even i have upgraded the tyres to 185 " in my swift!

Cheers,
Sri

Hi Sri,

Thanks for the reply.

Would appreciate if you can put some more light on my other queries mentioned above.....

like whether alloy wheels are suitable for standard tyres which are available with swift vdi

Thanks

hi there again , firstly i would like to say the value of your tyre of Swift Vdi will be got only if u sell it soon after you get it delvred or before the delivery of the car , you would get max upto rs 1200 per tyre (( 165/ 80  14 ) and if u delay for one month then the value of your tyre would go down drastically and wud make it tough to sell! so better sell it soon i say within the day of delivery of b4 the delivery itselft

Exhchange the tyre to 185/70 R 14 tyres or 195/ 70 R 15 ( as you are fitting alloys , 15" tyres cud also do) make usre you buy 14 " 5.5 rim size alloy or else 15" alloy!

Bridgestone , yokohoma, Michilin and good yr are the tyres you could go for!

Cheers,
Sri
