Good quality Alloy Wheels, which are lighter than the normal Steel ones, help improve mileage - but marginally (due to less weight).

Yes marginally means around 5- 10% not 30 % , thats what i was trying to point out .!!!

But you know something , i had gone to my well known car accesory dealer here in Mangalore and just looked at the alloys and asked how much , he said me the rates and i asked about the fuel effiiiceincy improvemnt and he also gave the same view as i or Pankaj gave and he said as i drive long and Drive in highways and villages Alloys might get bent and some are facing that probleams and as frankly he sad if i want for styling he can fit but not seriously advisable to fit Alloyys was his serious opnion

Cheers,

Sri

Alloy wheels are basically for good looks.  One should go for the best ones so that the performance of the car is not affected in any way. Else, the normal steel ones are fine.
