Daihatshu is one of the best small car manufacturer, sister Co of Toyota. I am wondering when Daihatshu will enter Indian market.

Unlikely that the company as such would make it here. Toyota might well sell some of its cars branded as Toyota but would not risk a new venture with an unknown name as far as India is concerned.

Toyota has so many small car/entry level sedan(like Echo), why dont they sell them in India? I think they can easily capture market with these cars.

Toyota with Daihatsu has the expertise, quality and the range of products to lure the Indian market. But I think Toyota and Honda so slow to market changes.

Toyota hasn’t made the impact in India as one would have expected. (Considering the fact that they are the number one automobile manufacturer). Hopefully, they will turn around and ultimately benefit the Indian car buyer!

From what we know about Daihatsu's most well known contribution to India's auto scene, I won't be that enthusiastic about it...

Guess what it was?... AUTO RICKS!!

News from TOI-

Japanese auto major Toyota said on Monday that it is considering to set up an engine and transmission plant in India as it looks to use more vehicle-parts made here in its cars than import

TKM is investing Rs 3,200 crore (Rs 32 billion) in the second facility, which will have an initial capacity of 70,000 units as it gears to launch a small car in the Indian market by early 2011. Depending on demand the firm may increase the installed capacity to 200,000 units.
