Well the E39 was (and is-personally) the most evocative shapes that the 5 has worn till now!
The kidney grilles integrated into the bonnet line was one of the most pivotal design points in terms of BM's(since lost because of Bangle and Pedestrian impact norms!).
Spares and service might still be expensive for low cost second hand premium cars and there in again lies the draw for a low cost car like the Nano as far as India is concerned.
