I think 2 name is just taking away fun & purpose of having an identity. If you any way have to put 2 names than its rather we continue with the way its going where people have already choosen to give either their real name or the one they whish to.

This is just a personal opinion.

I second Satish on this. I guess the unique user name concept is good. And I dont think there should be any identity problem as we can always click on the user name and go to his/her profile and check the real name, if really required. Generally, most of the times we remember the user name and the person, if we are here for long. Obviously, when anyone comes new will have to struggle a bit, but eventually he/she will also get used to the names. I dont think there would be any problem.

The real name etc. may not necessarily be a part of public profile.

I also think real names and identity should not be a criterion on the forums, specialy in todays time.

These are personal choices if left to us,i feel.

Although this forum and the likes does not diveulge anthing beyond discussion of cars and stuff[which otherwise becomes little scary in other communities like Orkut ].

Real names should be left as a discreation on the part of the user, still opinion might vary on this and ofcourse decission lies in the hands of the moderators and the policie of the forum.

Disclosing of real names/identities etc. on a public forum is a matter of personal choice.  The ones who do not mind doing so, may choose to use their real name as user ID/name - like many of us have done until now.

The forum should not be displaying those - I feel - neither below the user ID/name nor in the public profile.

Definitely it's a personal choice and whoever wants to display his/her name, can use Signature to do so.
