Poignant thoughts there.

Another view point would be that the Optra diesel as an alternative to the fiesta and linea diesels(once the pricing is made upto the competitors) , once that happens then the customers for the those midsizers would happily consider the once lower D segment Optra excellent VFM.

Fiesta diesel is horrible car to drive in city. No power at all. Really tiring

In many countries GM have discontinued the Optra Magnum to pave way for the new Cruze. But, GM has decided, not to do the same in India. Optra will be placed as the entry level executive salon and Cruze will be premium executive salon.

I think this is the time GM should reposition Optra along with likes of Linea , Verna & Vento . They need to redesign its interiors ( although no problem but looks dated ) & exteriors ( somehow many likes its earlier looks ).

Fully loaded Optra Magnum around 9-9.5 lacs would be a great rivals to all cars in its segment .

I have shortlisted Optra Magnum Diesel LT. Understand GM has dropped the prices for the top end model by 1.4Lacs in Oct 10. is their any news why there is such a huge drop in the prices? Any news whether Magnum is going to be discontinued from next year?
