Hey Guys,

I have cancelled by booking for Skoda Fabia now. Decided to go in for a used Ford Fiesta 1.4zxi tdci insted.

The expectation is Rs 4,70,000/- Pune registered single owner clocked 45,900 kms. The body trims are ok. Doesnt seem to be changed or altered.

I have to pay the octroi, the commission, the insurance transfer and the registration transfer charges.

I am goin in for a second hand car for the first time. Pls advise. Does this look like a good deal. It seems ok in the carwale valuation tool.

Regards,

Vinay Pillai

Ford Fiesta TDCI is one of the most refined diesel engine i have ever seen. The deal sounds good to me.Make sure you get the car checked at Fords A.S.S.If possible ask for service records.

Hi Vinay,

You can go for the Fiesta TDCi and car is too good. My experience is good. Check this thread too.

Before buying make sure that car is good in condition, a check-up from reliable workshop/mechanic is must. Do checkout insurance history too.

Cheers!

Had a horrific experience yesterday.

I took the vehicle mentioned above to the Ford dealer.

The service station guys were helpful. They showed me the history of the vehicle.

The vehicle bought on 29/4/2009 had travelled 38,491kms on 10/4/2008 i.e one year and yesterday the odometer was showing 45,730 odd kms. Even in that duration of the first yr, the vehicle's power steering setting was done twice, the gear assly changed. The list was horrific. The vehicle had not even entered a ford service station from 10/4/2008 i.e almost 18 months.

I realised that now they could even reverse the digital meters also. The used car guy was trying to pull a fast one on me. I lost my initial Rs 5000/- which i had foolishly paid as token money for the vehicle.Hence trust no one in case of used cars.

Good riddance ,although you should get your 5000 also back bacause there is a breach of trust from the used car dealer side and he can not hold on to your money when he is passing on a fraud car to you.

Thank you Omkar.I am glad I put it up on carwale forum. Its because of you guys that I went ahead to the Ford service station in the first place.

The used car guy is an oldtime friend of my dad's. Thas y was not goin in for that. I am GLAD that I did. Thanks again. Losing 5000 is better than loosing 5,00,000/-.

I bought used Ford fiesta TDCi (Aug2006 model; 46000 km) for Rs 3,60,000 three months back. I spent another 20K on service & insurance renewal. I have driven 7000 km since and it has not given me any problem at all. It is fun to drive and very stable on highways. If you can get a genuine deal on used Ford Fiesta Diesel, go for it.
