65% is within laws as far as I know, if anyone has any different opinions. However, I would prefer, rather suggest to have complete transparent film on the front windshield. Its not safe, specially at nights and when the sun is setting..its really dangerous. So even if it costs more, a transparent film is better.

Regarding insurance, filming would not effect the glass in such a way to avoid insurance claim, as far as I know. If anyone having diff experience, do reply.

Edit: Mods, I think this thread should be in accesories section and not general discussion. Could you please do the needful.

Those who claim that they know everything do not know what they dont know.

There are no drawbacks if you use the right Visible Light Transmission (VLT) specs for the films you fix. If you take care to avoid scratches, you will enjoy a much cooler cabin even when parked under direct sunlight or driving during hot Indian summers.

75% VLT for the front and rear and 50% VLT for the sides is AFAIK the legal limits as per the Indian Motor Vehicles Act.

Try Llumar AIR 75 clear film for the front and rear and any 50 VLT grade from Llumar or 3M for the sides, and you will notice substantial reduction in heat as well as enhanced visibility at night due to reduction in glare from oncoming vehicle headlights. I assume your car has a good pair of headlights.

I've heard 3M is also good. V-Cool is stated to be the best but it costs almost double of what you would pay for Llumar or 3M. There is also Garware which costs less, but I am not sure about its longetivity.

Its very important that you get his fixed by an authorised dealer to avoid scratches and bubbles.

It cost me Rs. 6750 and you also get a 5 year manufactuters warranty.
